Note from the Counselors

Dear Parents,

As spring break approaches, we want to ensure that all families are prepared and aware of resources available in case of a mental health crisis. If your child is worried about a friend, here are the steps to follow:

  • Listen to your child’s concern
  • Contact their friend’s parents directly and share your child’s concern
  • If you are concerned about a child’s immediate safety or you cannot contact the friend’s parents, call 911.
  • Reassure your child they did the right thing telling you
  • Follow-up with the school counselor or administration so they can support the child/family.
