ATTENTION ALL PARENTS - SUPPORT THE SENIOR ALL NIGHT PARTY

Every year the school hosts a Senior All Night Party (SANP) the night of graduation. The SANP Committee has been working hard to create a fun evening for our Seniors. In order to make the event memorable, we need the support of all our Mercy families by way of sponsorships and donations to help with the cost of entertainment, food, and other event expenses.

While you may not have a graduating Senior, we hope you’ll consider supporting this event as at some point in a few short year(s), you will have one, and you will need to count on underclass parents to help with donations as well. All sponsors will be recognized on signage the night of the event for parents and students to see. We appreciate your consideration of this request and thank you in advance for making this a night to remember for our graduating Seniors!

Please use Sign-Up Genius here to show your support. THANK YOU!

MERCY IMPACT

Published by Mercy Education

Mercy HS is a proud member of Mercy Education, a network of 55 Mercy Catholic schools located around the globe! Recently, we were featured in Mercy Impact, the quarterly webzine of Mercy Education. Learning more about our fellow Mercy schools helps us better understand the far reaching impact of our charism. We encourage you to read about the ways Mercy schools are nurturing young leaders inspired by Mercy through the five Mercy Education Core Values. The newest edition of Mercy Impact focuses on two of these values: Educational Courage and Inspired By Faith.

AOD SCHOOL NEWS

The AOD shared the following resources and opportunities for Mercy families.

Extended Access to Protect Young Eyes: Curriculum & Parent App

As indicated in August, based on the need for online safety and digital citizenship, the AOD purchased the Protect Young Eyes Curriculum and Parent App for all schools in the AOD (including the order schools). Due to the confusion with the Virtus platform, however, Chris McKenna has generously offered to extend the access to both the curriculum and the parent app throughout next year, 2023-2024. Click here for the PYE curriculum; the link can also be found under the Educator’s Tab in Virtus.

Catholic Youth Summer Camp

Check out the Catholic Youth Summer Camp Great Lakes, located in Brighton, MI for middle school and high school students. See more information for the Catholic Youth Summer Camp Great Lakes - CYSC - Catholic Youth Summer Camp here.

Compass for Parents

The Family Ministry Team at the AOD recently launched a new resource for parents - the Compass website. www.compassforparents.org. Compass is an online catalog with resources for parents to accompany them through the joys and trials of family life. An article about the project can be found here. The catalog already has 150 entries, but it will continue to grow over the next 18 months to include original videos, articles, and content for parents of children at every age from birth through young adulthood.

REMINDERS & RESOURCES

Book Buyback

The BNC-Virtual Online Buyback allows students to recoup some of the money they spent on books that they no longer need. Online buyback is a service provided automatically in the online bookstore, ensuring students have a convenient and easy way to sell back their books anytime, anywhere. Starting a week before the end of classes, students will receive buyback notices that list the books they have purchased from the online bookstore and the sell back price for each. Student can also sell back titles to us that they acquired elsewhere. Check out the quick how-to video here.
