Simple, brief breathing exercises may improve mood and reduce anxiety, according to a study published in January 2023.

Physical Activity

Physical activity was found to be highly beneficial for improving depression, anxiety and distress, according to a February 2023 meta-review. Read the article in the British Journal of Sports Medicine.


Case Management Interventions

In individuals with chronic disease, an April 2023 meta-analysis found that case management interventions can reduce anxiety and depressive symptoms. Read the article in PLoS ONE.


Air Pollution Exposure

The American Academy of Pediatrics is producing a series of videos to teach teens about mental health. The series will include 12 videos, with topics such as depression, anxiety, eating disorders, and self harm, among others.

A Learning Collaborative

Rural-dwelling older agricultural workers and their families often experience health disparities due to unmet social determinants of health. This National Center for Equitable Care for Elders (NCECE) and Migrant Clinicians Network (MCN) joint learning collaborative will discuss strategies to enable older agricultural workers to successfully age in the community by identifying and addressing their key needs including occupational risks associated with aging, cultural dimensions of well-being, and the impact of life transitions on social connections essential to healthy aging.
