In-Person and Hybrid Events
This year, the Pace SBDC brought back in-person events with gusto. In January, we invited volunteer attorneys from the City Bar Justice Center, Neighborhood Entrepreneur Law Project (NELP) to meet in person with small business owners. In February, we went hybrid and welcomed attendees to join us either in-person, on campus at One Pace Plaza or participate via Zoom. On the 7th, Pace University Lubin School of Business Professor, Dr. Jessica A. Magaldi led an insightful, hybrid talk about non-disclosure agreements. The following week, Professor Harvey Markovitz presented a show-and-tell talk on Sales and had a little fun with audience participation to give examples of networking tactics. We hope next time you'll join us. Find all our upcoming events here.
Website Support
Websites are not only an online business card for businesses; they have the power to attract leads, engage potential customers, and convert visits into purchases. Recognizing that websites help improve bottom lines and strengthen a business's sales and marketing capabilities, Pace SBDC has been offering no-cost web support to help business owners that lack the skills to launch a site or improve a problematic one. To date, Pace SBDC has helped a range of clients to build a new website, including coaches and consultants, a gym, a set-design team, a travel discounter, a vegetarian cafe, among others. Contact a Pace SBDC Business Advisor for help with developing or improving your website!
ECommerce Update
Our e-commerce page in the Resources section of the Pace SBDC website is loaded with helpful small business guidance and was recently updated with the addition of two marketplaces rising in popularity with wholesalers - FAIRE and Alibaba. FAIRE focuses on smaller, independent brands. One of our clients recently joined and found the platform accepted her company relatively quickly. Meanwhile, Alibaba has developed a huge and highly global reach. U.S. small businesses looking to begin exporting might wish to test it out. Read about e-commerce, get helpful tips, and find links to the latest marketplace platforms and other ecommerce solutions here.
