March 2025 Newsletter

Dear Friends,

As we move further into the academic year, we want to celebrate our exciting programs and accomplishments and express our gratitude for your continued partnership, support, and participation. Our collaborations continue to bring real-word connections and engaging experiences to classrooms across Delaware.

Since the start of 2025, we’ve had incredible opportunities to engage with students and educators. The Stock Market Game Awards celebrated the hard work of 1,797 students across Delaware who explored hands-on ways of saving, investing, and financial decision-making. The Economic Forecast event brought together top economic voices to discuss key economic issues, fostering insightful conversations among university and community members. And our Financial Fitness for Life event gave educators fresh and engaging ways to bring financial literacy concepts to students in their classrooms.

This season also brings transitions. We extend our heartfelt appreciation to Susan Sherry upon her retirement (the banner picture above shows our team celebrating this milestone with her and her husband, Fil). We also welcome two new team members: Laura Baker, our New Business Administrator, and Laura Ahlstrom, our Researcher and SYLP Lead. Their expertise and enthusiasm will help us continue supporting educators in new and innovative ways.

Looking ahead, April is Financial Literacy Month, and volunteers will join Teach Children to Save Day in schools, helping students build financial confidence early on. Additionally, as we continue supporting educators, we invite you to help us recognize an outstanding educator by nominating them for the Bonnie T. Meszaros Economics Teacher of the Year Award.

Thank you for your ongoing support and commitment to economic, personal finance, and entrepreneurship education. We look forward to continuing this journey together.

Onward!
