What to do when your child has a fever

Over the last few months, we were plagued with much sickness. The emergency departments were overwhelmed with many children showing signs of Covid, Influenza, or RSV – dubbed the triple threat.


As a parent it can be worrisome and anxiety provoking when your child is sick. The Canadian Pharmacists Association in partnership with other health organizations, created an information document for families and caregivers.

Being isolated, hungry and alone is not a position one wants to be in; however, for Jim this was reality. With doors closing on his personal relationships and his income depleting, he was sliding down a slippery slope with no one to help him back up.

The front door to health care in Ontario is broken and needs to be fixed

The challenge of finding a primary care provider is clear. There are thousands without a family doctor or nurse practitioner in Peterborough.


Family medicine plays a crucial role in health care. On behalf of our Board of Directors, we shared an opinion piece explaining the dire need to include family medicine in all aspects of health system design.


The following feature advocates for family medicine in Peterborough and all of Ontario: The front door to health care in Ontario is broken and needs to be fixed.
