April Students of the Month
Cassidy Kole
Class of 2023

Senior Cassidy Kole says her favorite classes at North Hunterdon were AP Physics 1 & AP Physics C. Once Cassidy learned what physics was, she was very interested in the new way of thinking both classes required. Although these two classes were her toughest in high school, Mr. Collins and Mr. Quinn pushed Cassidy past many challenges, helping her to learn more and more about the science. She now looks forward to studying a field involving physics in college. Cassidy is Team Captain for both Girls Lacrosse and Girls Wrestling. She has played lacrosse all four years in high school and has wrestled for the past two years. Cassidy placed third in regions for wrestling and made it to States this year. In wrestling, she was given the MVP award and the Most Pins Award on the girls' team. After last year’s lacrosse season, Cassidy made first-team All-Conference and first-team All-County. She has been a trainer for the Special Olympics for the last three years, is a member of the National Honor Society, and is in the Unified Club and the Interact Club. Outside of school, Cassidy works weddings at The Farmhouse on the weekends. She also teaches Taekwondo at Impact Martial Arts. Cassidy says her favorite memories at North mostly come from her two years of wrestling. The team pushed each other through tough matches, and her coaches have taught her what it means to have confidence and to believe in yourself. As much as she hated the countless sprints and grueling practices, it made her mentally stronger. She will always look up to her coaches because they helped her grow as both a wrestler and a person. Cassidy describes her time at North Hunterdon as one that helped introduce her to many aspects of life she had not previously experienced. These new aspects taught her time management, how to balance a busy schedule, and that good things are earned with hard work. All lessons, which will help her in the future. Next year, Cassidy will attend TCNJ, where she will play lacrosse and will focus on Engineering.

Rahul Siddharth
Class of 2023

Senior Rahul Siddharth is a member of the National Honor Society, Math Honor Society, and Science Honor Society. Rahul’s favorite classes at North Hunterdon have been AP Chemistry, AP Physics C, and English IV Honors. He enjoyed AP Chemistry and Physics C due to the difficulty of the subjects and the reward of performing well in the classes. The environment of these classes was extremely cooperative, lighthearted, and fun. It made classes enjoyable, even though they were extremely challenging. Rahul enjoyed AP English IV because of the interactive nature of the class and how fun the class was as a whole. One of his favorite memories came from playing Grudge Ball during Honors Chem, which is a review game used for the cumulative review. This review game was his favorite because there was an opportunity to score extra points by shooting a basketball in a mini hoop that Dr. Wilhelm had purchased. Rahul remembers hitting a game-winner during a review day. Another favorite memory was being one of two juniors in AP Calculus BC. One day, a sub went around the classroom asking the seniors where they were going to college. Rahul replied he would be attending North Hunterdon High School the following year. His final favorite memory was creating the Math Honor Society cabinet in the 150s hallway. He got to create Mr. Schuetz's picture, where the AP Statistics teacher is dunking on Lebron James. Mr. Schuetz commented that he was "very honored" to be featured in the cabinet. Outside of school, Rahul spends his time teaching C and C++ programming languages at a programming institute in Branchburg. He has been teaching for almost a year and a half. Rahul also plays rec basketball. He is a Clinton Township Rec Basketball Champion. Rahul says attending North was an experience of growth and development, both socially and academically. He moved into the district as a freshman, not knowing if he could make new friends and adapt to a new place or if he could succeed in higher-level classes. He is happy to say that he was able to find community and comfort at North while succeeding academically. Next year, Rahul will be attending Purdue University, where he will study Computer Science.

April Athletes of the Month
Owen Landis
Class of 2023

Senior Owen Landis has been playing golf competitively for the past three years. Owen’s strongest skill when playing golf is bringing a lot of positivity, even when he plays a bad round. Owen is the senior Captain of the team. This year, the team has an opportunity to qualify for the State Tournament. If that happens, it would be the first time since he began playing golf for North. Owen is the Junior Club Champion at his home course, Stanton Ridge Country Club. He is a member of the Interact Club and played basketball for North up until his junior year. Owen says his experience at North has been amazing. Coming from a small Catholic school, he was able to meet many new people and form new friendships throughout his years here. Next year, Owen will be attending High Point University. He plans on majoring in Finance and will possibly play golf for the school.

Mia Parker
Class of 2023

Senior Mia Parker has been playing softball since she was four years old and has been playing softball competitively since the first grade. In addition to playing for the Lions, Mia played on a high-level travel team until her junior year. She is Co-Captain of the varsity softball team and plays second base for the Lions. Mia’s strongest skills in softball are her game IQ, being a leader on the field, and being a team player. The team still has to face some tough competition this season, but she firmly believes if the ladies play together as a team, the Lions will win each of those games. Mia also played volleyball for North during her freshman year and basketball during her freshman and sophomore years. She is the Co-President of the Interact Club, where she has helped run events such as Relay for Life and Friendship Day. Mia was a wrestling statistician for two years and is a member of the National Honor Society and Spanish Honor Society, and is a Student Ambassador. She says her experience at North was a fun time. The school made her years here special because she was able to be part of many clubs and activities. Some of her favorite events were Relay for Life and Friendship Day. Being a part of the softball team added an amazing touch to her high school experience. Next year, Mia plans on participating in multiple sports at the intramural level, including softball. She will be attending the University of South Carolina, where she will study International Business and Global Supply Chain Management while minoring in Spanish.

Advanced Placement Exam Schedule
Good luck to all of our Advanced Placement students who are taking AP Exams during the first two weeks of May! Below is the schedule determined by The College Board.
NJ Student Learning Assessments
We will be running two bus runs on testing days, May 15 through 18. All students taking the assessment need to come to school at the regular time as well as those students in AM Polytech classes.

Students not taking the assessment will get on their bus 2 ½ hours later than their regular pick-up time. We will follow the standardized-testing bell schedule during the assessments.

Supervision for students not taking the test who arrive early will be available in the Main Gym.

A regular Polytech bus will run for those students not taking the assessment, so they should report to school at the normal time for the bus to Polytech. PM Polytech students will attend the first two periods of school, and then they will have an opportunity to eat lunch before getting on the bus.
May 15-18

Booster Club
Girls Softball
The softball team is off to its best start in recent memory. The team is currently undefeated, winning all 13 games they have played to date. There have been contributions from so many players and the girls are really starting to bond as a team. The team has fed off of the leadership provided by their 2 senior captains (Mia Parker & Grace Reed) and just recently knocked off 2 top-20 ranked teams in Metuchen and Robbinsville. If that wasn't enough, they were treated to a great surprise on Saturday, April 22nd when softball legend Jennie Finch stopped by to share a few inspirational words with the girls (see picture). They hope to keep this great run going as they take on Hunterdon Central, Notre Dame and Governor Livingston during the last week of April.
Boys Track & Field
We had a great start to the boy's track spring season at the Summit Relays on April 8th!
Brayden Barro broke the meet record in the 1,600 finishing in 4:24.99, breaking his previous PR of 4:27.64 and the meet record time of 4:35.54.
Graham Becker, Brody Sible, Kente Edwards and Nick Santopietro broke the SCHOOL RECORD in the Sprint Medley Relay in a time of 1:37.31!!
Boys Lacrosse
Boys Lacrosse is gaining momentum as the season develops. Senior Trevor Brotons leads the stats with 50 points and 28 assists, followed by Matt Parente with 22 goals and Senior Patrick Egg with 21 goals! Senior Caleb Baucom is crushing face-offs, allowing our team the opportunity to deliver on the offense. Sophomore Alec Milne is doing a great job manning the net with his record saves in goal! SHOUT OUT: to our JV and Freshman teams, who are currently UNDEFEATED! The boys have come together in their fundraising efforts with a clothing drive, car washes, and a YETI raffle. Also, their team bonding with a good old game of dodgeball was a great way to kick off the season and foster friendly rivalry. Looking forward to what the second half of the season will bring, now that they are in a groove!
Please join us for SENIOR night on May 15th where we celebrate seniors: Caleb Baucom,
Nick McManus, David Kearsley, Trevor Brotons, Patrick Egg, Nate Hengerer, Colton Licwinko, Daniel Kawwa and Nathan Cintron.
Girls Lacrosse
Girls' Lacrosse is off to a great start! The team is 4-2 on the season and has had lots of accomplishments to celebrate! We were excited to recognize Maddy Poltrack & Ally Moore for surpassing the 100-point mark. The team just finished their Cancer Awareness game to raise funds for the HEADstrong Foundation. Thank you to all who donated and supported the bake sale! On April 27th we are honored to recognize our seniors: CJ Kole, Maddy Poltrack, Ally Moore, Emily Rush, and Maddie Torkildsen.
Girls Spring Track & Field
The girls started off the season at their first meet with a 1st place win at the Summit Relays! The events which drove the win were the 1st place relay teams of Disc, Javelin, 4x100 runners, Pole Vault and 4x200 runners!

The girls went on to the Skyland Conference Relays where they placed 2nd overall. Strong performances were had by the throwers, jumpers, distance runners and big contributions by the Freshman sprinters! Two highlight performances were by the 4x400 and 4x200 teams. The 4x200 team ran a SCHOOL RECORD of 1:46.02!!!
