Dolphin Yacht Club is hosting a CPR and First Aid training/certification, March 22nd at 9am. Retired firefighter, David Koch will provide infant, child and adult CPR and first aid training and certification. The certificate is good for two years.

The class will be at DYC.

34 S A St, Washougal, WA 98671

Expect it to be about 2 1/2 hours in length. Please RSVP to get you place in the class. There truly is safety in numbers. The more of us that know CPR and first aid the better off we will be on out on the water if someone were to need a medical intervention. This is also a very important skill to have in our personal lives as well.

$60 per person (includes a field guide and your certification card).

Send me an email to RSVP. Be sure to put CPR in the subject line. I will send back a confirmation email. So be sure you’ve received that confirmation email.

You don’t have to be a member of our club to participate. We will have coffee and refreshments.

Opening Day Parade Route Practice Runs - April 19th and 26th - 10AM

TYEE Yacht Club is planning on having two practice parade route runs and have invited all clubs to join them in order to be ready for this year's new route for the parade. Kat Petterson who is the Fleet Captain for TYEE is organizing this and is offering the option for all clubs to join them on one or both days to participate. They will be using Ch. 68 for the coordination and the form up area will be in front of the TYEE YC area so that the transition from Parade Judging area formation to single file for the downriver portion can be worked out. If you aren't familiar with Kat, she is also the Columbia Fleet Leader for Christmas Ships with her husband Pete. Avid and knowledgeable Boaters that we can all learn something from. If you have any questions for Kat, she can be reached at Kat@CRYA.us.

Schwitter Docks Badly Damaged, But....

Useable, but with access Limitations

The outer dock at Schwitter Landing on Government Island has been severely damaged. A section of the dock connecting to the outer dock has been washed out. The inner dock is undamaged and usable. The outer dock is available, but without a link to the inner dock and the shore. State Parks is coordinating with Port of Portland to secure the docks.

Hadley's Landing Shore access Closed

Oregon State Marine Board has posted that the dock is open but that there is not access to shore. They have also given no update on repairs at this time.

Sabor del Río Café @ Harbor 1 Marina

New on the waterfront Dining Option

Located at 3307 NE Marine Dr. Portland 97211

Deck View from the Cafe

From Owner - Louis Morales

As a proud member of the Dolphin Yacht Club for nearly three years, I’ve come to love the Columbia River and the amazing community that spends countless hours enjoying it. That’s why we’re thrilled to bring even more joy to the waterfront with Sabor del Río Café—offering delicious food and exceptional customer service.

We’re located at Harbor 1 Marina, right next to Rodgers and just a stone’s throw from Gary’s gas station. With easy access by boat and plenty of parking, you can grab a quick bite to go or stay awhile and enjoy a beverage.

Check out our Facebook page for a sneak peek at our menu—we can’t wait to serve you soon!

With that in mind, we’d love to proudly display all the local Yacht Club burgees on our flagpole, alongside the American flag. Would your club be willing to donate a burgee for us to fly? We’d truly appreciate the support and would be honored to showcase it!

Content in your Club's Newsletters that all Boaters should read?

We can't see every club's internal communication, but we have to think some of the articles would be great information for all boaters. If you find that article of interest, please forward it to cryanews@gmail.com after getting approval to share. We can all be more informed.
