In the show, I mentioned that it would be terrible if this wicked partnership exists in Israel, the seat of Holiness in the world. I did some research for this newsletter and found that sex trafficking in Israel has been a very big problem for a long time, and it's getting worse. In addition to all the factors that conspire to build and maintain networks of sex slavery in the Middle East and beyond, could it be that Israel's easy abortion access also encourages sex slavery? Here's what we learned:

There exists in Israel a nonprofit organization called ATZUM, www.ATZUM.org, described as - Justice Works seeks to remedy injustices in Israeli society and encourage individuals.

Posted October 2022 on their Facebook page is a report about a politician facilitating sex trafficking in Israel rather than expanding legal right to work policies for immigrants so women have alternatives to sex slavery. No wonder abortion discussions are absent from political debate in Israel!
This report came out 4 months after Israel eased restrictions on abortion access, allowing chemical abortion without hospitalization and dropping the requirement to justify a tax payer funded abortion in front of a 'termination committee."

The case of the Deputy Mayor of Rishon Lezion who helped bring a woman from Ukraine to Israel for prostitution did not surprise us - there is no shortage of public figures linked to scandals of exploiting their power for sexual violence, and this is the case here as well.
Adv. Noa Rodman, head of Israel's TFHT's (The Task Force on Human Trafficking and Prostitution) anti-trafficking efforts, was interviewed on the 'HaKol Kalul' program and explained: "This tells the story of human trafficking in Israel 2022. Much of the activity starts online in this very way. These are women who are simply trying to lift themselves out of the circumstances they find themselves in. The negative spotlight should not be on them, but on those who take advantage of their hardships. There are many asylum-seekers from Ukraine and from other countries seeking to improve their lives. If we don't give them the right to work legally, their plight will lead them to particularly vulnerable places."
