Message from the Associate Dean - BCH Oakland

January 2024

Happy New Year 2024!

I hope you all got a bit of rest over the holidays and if you worked- Thank You!

Out with 2023:

We saw some faculty come and go. We lost our Summit Unit and started substantive preparation for our new campus modernization. We declared the end of the Public Health Emergency and then had a respiratory surge of all sorts of viruses.  A lot of flux for one year!

In with 2024:

Many thanks to the Design and Construction Team for working closely with us to understand how we work and help us serve the children of our community whilst more change is happening. Stay tuned for key meetings and communications.

We are so excited to welcome a new class of fellows and residents in the summer of 2024 and are incredibly proud of how the trainees have matched and found positions following their training.

The new year brings in new opportunities for faculty and staff wellness. Please take advantage of our latest sponsored activities such as chair massage, acupressure and other wellness offerings coming January 22-24, 2024 (see schedule and sign-up info below).

Be well,

Kelley

Release of the UCSF Changemaker Series

The UCSF Changemaker Series, created by Professor of Medicine Hilary Seligman, MD, MAS, is a four-part video series that seeks to build the capacity of UCSF researchers to generate scientific evidence that is responsive to the needs of real-world decision-makers. Each 10-15 minute video highlights a UCSF researcher in conversation with an interdisciplinary panel of non-academic experts discussing how investigators at all stages of their careers can more meaningfully inform policies, systems, and structures in order to create social or policy change.
