Week of March 31-April 6, 2025

From the President

The Gospel for this Sunday is the parable of the prodigal son, the merciful father, and the unforgiving older brother (Luke 15:1-3, 11-32). There is much for each of us to reflect upon when we are in our own little “dysfunctional” world, and I suspect at different moments we are playing each of these parts.  Do we realize the importance of saying “I was wrong and need to go home,” or to extend mercy and offer forgiveness even when wronged, or we feel slighted?  In Rembrandt’s famous painting of the father welcoming his son back home, one sees the father’s two hands, but they don’t look alike—one looks more like a woman’s hand.  It is said that Rembrandt wanted to express that God’s love is both paternal and maternal, and then even more than that. God loves us not because we deserve it, but because that is the nature of God.

As we were still in the unfolding of “Giving Day” when I wrote a message last week, I would like to thank all who responded from throughout our Curley Family.  It was quite successful, and we are very grateful.

From the Principal

Spring is here! There is renewed energy with the longer days and outdoor activities. The campus feels alive after school with spring sports. The Band Trip and Spring Choir Camp signal that the concerts are right around the corner.

I hope that the next two months find you on campus often to participate in the many activities we have scheduled. Enjoy this time as a Curley parent. Our Curley Men are doing some pretty great things.

Please continue to remind them to use these next two months to finish the year well. Each step along the way, they are building their future.

Re-registration Update

The school will not be sending an additional link for re-registration for the 2025-2026 school year. Instead, the tuition contract that parents/guardians signed and is stored in FACTS is considered the re-registration. If any contact or demographic information needs to be updated, please email Mrs. Raynor, sraynor@archbishopcurley.org. This would include address, email, phone number, and emergency contact. Updates will be made in the school database accordingly. If you have any questions, please contact the main office.

Orioles Day

To celebrate Opening Day, students, faculty, and staff are invited to wear an orioles shirt or an orange shirt on Monday, March 31st. The remainder of the dress code is in effect from the waist down. Go O’s!

From the Assistant Principal of Academics

This is a very busy time of year as we have officially kicked off spring and the beginning of the 4th quarter. Third quarter Report Cards will be available in Portals on April 1, 2025. The 4th quarter brings lots of excitement and anticipation for the end of the year. Please continue to remind your son(s) to check Plus Portals on a regular basis and to see his teacher(s) if he has questions. I also encourage students to see their teachers for extra support and help if they are struggling in any of their courses. The 4th quarter is very short for our seniors making this even more important. My door is always open if they ever need anything.

Spring Break is a great time to get out and visit colleges. If you are going away for break, and time permits, take a tour of a college or university that's near where you are visiting. If you want a university lead tour then you need to register at the school's website. Look for VISIT on any school's website if you'd like to schedule a tour. The spring semester is also the time when many schools offer Junior Days or Spring Open Houses that are geared for juniors. Here are links to some upcoming ones:

Mrs. Berrigan is currently on maternity leave. She will return in early June. Please reach out to Mrs. Berkey at jberkey@archbishopcurley.org if you need any assistance.
