Spring Break for Pilots: Sun 'n Fun 2025

SUN ‘n FUN is one of the world’s largest aviation events and Zenith Aircraft Company has a number of planned activities there, including workshops and educational seminars, next week at the annual Sun 'n Fun Aero Expo in Lakeland, Florida, April 1 - 6.

Zenith staff is excited to connect with both current and future Zenith builders and pilots, and showcase the latest kit aircraft models. For additional details, visit Zenith’s Facebook event page—and don’t forget to share it with your fellow aviators!

Zenith Aircraft will hold educational seminars at Sun 'n Fun Aero Expo once again to share information about building and flying Zenith kit aircraft. Here's a summary of the scheduled one hour seminars (check official program for time and locations), held in air-conditioned classrooms of the Central Florida Aerospace Academy (CFAA) on the Sun 'n Fun Campus:

  • Zenith Aircraft Kit Airplanes for Sport Pilots 1:00 PM, Tuesday, April 1
  • Ongoing Airworthiness for Your Zenith Airplane 12:00 PM, Wednesday, April 2
  • Modern Rivets & Sheet Metal Construction 1:00 PM, Wednesday, April 2
  • Zenith STOL Designs: Form Follows Function 10:00 AM, Thursday, April 3
  • Zenith High-Wing STOL Designs 9:30 AM, Friday April 4, at the STOL Basecamp.

The last STOL seminar will take place at the new STOL Basecamp on the Sun 'n Fun grounds. Presenter Sebastien Heintz will share details about the Chris Heintz STOL designs, and will be joined by STOL pilot Sheldon Heatherington (below), who will share some of his experiences flying STOL competitions. Sheldon was invited to fly in the STOL Invitational at Sun 'n Fun with his "Redbird STOL" Zenith CH 750. Watch him fly, meet with him and see his airplane at the STOL Basecamp during the Sun 'n Fun week.

We look forward to showing this striking Zenith STOL CH 750 "SkyJeep" (above) at the Zenith booth (MD 26B). Dubbed the "LAZER Chicken," this aircraft will represent the "Flying Knuckleheads," a fun group of builders and flyers from Texas. We'll also have the "Spirit of Lakeland" CH 750 Cruzer in the Zenith booth, built by youth in Lakeland, Florida, equipped with hand controls and an un-panel display.

Zenith Aircraft Company holds monthly workshops at its kit aircraft factory in central Missouri. Experience what it takes to build your own airplane by participating at an upcoming hands-on workshop class and learn about the skills and tools needed to build your own. The workshop experience at the Zenith factory also includes a factory tour of the kit production facilities and a demo flight. Participants "graduate" upon completing construction of their own aircraft rudder tail section for one of Zenith Aircraft Company's popular kit aircraft designs, including the high-wing Zenith CH 750 series or the sleek low-wing Zenith CH 650 cruiser. Make plans now to join us at an upcoming factory workshop class:

April 24 & 25 | May 15 & 16 | June 20 & 21, 2025

Following the most recent workshop class, Paige G. (from Illinois) wrote us:

"I attended the rudder workshop on 3/13/25. I found the experience to be highly informative and enjoyable. Every question I had was expertly and genuinely answered... The operation was neat and clean with cutting edge technology. I gained more confidence and appreciation for Zenith aircraft because of the experience and I hope to do business with you in the future."

The Zenith hands-on workshop is an excellent way to learn about building your own kit aircraft and about the many advantages of owning and flying an airplane that you’ve built yourself. For many, building an aircraft (from a kit) is a very rewarding experience, and today’s modern kits make it easier and quicker than ever to build.

Workshop fees are just $375.00 (or $425 for the CH 750 Super Duty model) and include the complete rudder kit for a Zenith aircraft. Additional helpers (spouse or other family members) are encouraged to attend and can participate for free. Prior registration is required for the rudder workshop class and class size is limited.
