Ministry Highlight:

Queen City Pregnancy Resource Center

For our special/monthly communion offering on Sunday, January 7, our deacons have selected the Queen City Pregnancy Resource Center (QC PRC) located in Charlotte, NC. The Queen City Pregnancy Resource Center is a ministry to women facing unplanned pregnancies that partners with the local church to serve her family, save her child, and share the gospel.

The Queen City Pregnancy Resource Center has staff that is committed to providing compassionate care and confidential services in a welcoming environment. Medical services are provided by licensed medical personnel. The various medical services that can be found at the Queen City Pregnancy Resource Center are pregnancy tests, medical referrals, parenting education, post-abortion support, pregnancy options, support for men, and ultrasounds onsite. All their services are at no cost to the client and no insurance is needed for those who visit the center. The QC PRC also offers a variety of classes including educating moms on a healthy pregnancy and newborn care, a class for dads covering a variety of pregnancy and parenting topics, and a continuing of care program providing guidance on budgeting, housing, resume writing and education.

If you would like to give to the Queen City Pregnancy Resource Center, please place all special/monthly communion offering gifts in an envelope (found in pews) and label it ‘Special Communion Offering.’ Please include the name of the ministry on the envelope before placing your gift in one of the tithe boxes located inside the sanctuary at our main doors in the north, south, and toward the main lobby both in the balcony and on the floor level. You can also give online by clicking here. Thank you for your gift!

Giving Thanks for Gatha Schleicher

Join us in giving thanks to the Lord for Gatha Schleicher, who has served Christ Covenant Church as Ministry Administrator for Children’s Ministry for 31 years and is entering into retirement.

During Gatha’s time in Children’s Ministry, she served in various church ministry roles. According to our Human Resources department, Gatha has worked for 11,297 days at Christ Covenant. She is detail oriented, a self-starter, handy, our institutional knowledge, a natural mentor, and the epitome of a team player. Gatha will do anything necessary to benefit the church and Children’s Ministry. She welcomes each new Children’s Ministry staff member and makes them feel needed and supported in their roles. Gatha has taught us all how to be godly women, mothers, mother-in-laws, and grandmothers. She lives her life in such a way that you watch her and want to be more like Jesus because of her example.

Although Gatha is retiring from her role in Children’s Ministry, she is not leaving Christ Covenant Church. You will still find her volunteering at the office on Thursdays and once a month in the newborn nursery on Sunday morning. Children’s Ministry is so appreciative of Gatha and everything that she has done to help the ministry flourish.

Gatha Schleicher has been married to Dean for over 50 years. Together they have two sons and four grandchildren. Gatha loves her family, the church, and each of the staff members in Children’s Ministry so well. She has impacted the lives of those around her, especially at Christ Covenant, for over three decades.

Join us in thanking the Lord for Gatha!

At a large and growing church like ours, small groups provide a vital avenue for connecting in fellowship and sharing life with one another as we grow together in Christ. A small group can help a big church feel small. As always, feel free to reach out to our Small Groups Coordinator, Caleb Johnson, with any questions at either calebjohnson@christcovenant.org or 704-814-1091.
