We've had a busy few months over at Hawthorne Foundation Inc.

And we want to share what we've been up to...

Halloween Festivities

Our Halloween festivities were quite the spectacle this year! Come check out just a few of our favorite costumes that got us in the spooky spirit!

Giving Thanks

Day Hab was gracious enough to host a Thanksgiving feast and the entire HFI family was invited ! Great friends, food and music. It doesn't get much better than Thanksgiving time. Thank you to Anna Chopra and her hard-working Day Hab staff for hosting a wonderful event.

Anniversary Awards

Congratulations to all our wonderful staff members who were honored for their 5, 10, 15, 20, and 30 year anniversary's at Hawthorne Foundation!!

The dedication and hard work you show each and every day makes a world of difference for each one of our students and adult program participants.

We are so grateful to have you as part of our family.

HFI in the Community...

Congratulations Mr. William Britt!

A very special shoutout to our Baron De Hirsch resident and renowned artist William Britt for his acceptance into the Healing Hallways art exhibit at Northern Westchester Hospital! His artwork is currently on display in the North Building to view and purchase. Willie's perseverance and talent is an inspiration to all of us. We couldn't be more proud! 🎨😊

Meals On Wheels

Every Thursday morning our Adult Day Habilitation group heads over to White Plains High School to meet up with our friends at Meals on Wheels to help deliver meals to the local community. This venture was a particularly busy day as we made over 15 stops in White Plains throughout the day. Giving back is the best way to help any community grow. And our Day Hab program participants couldn't be happier to lend a helping hand.

Our Arts and Crafts classes allow our program participants to flex their creative muscles.

Going out to the local library is a great way to get out and experience the local community in a safe and comfortable setting.

Our Friday Softball games are a fun way for our program participants to be able to get outside and stretch their legs and learn the importance of sportsmanship

What a Wonderful Winter!

Manhattan Winter Talent Show

Dr. Glading and staff hosted an amazing Winter Talent Show at our brand new Manhattan campus this year. This was a great way to show off our students' unique talents . The show featured singing and dancing, comedy skits and drum solos and so much more. This year's show highlighted our students' passions and amazing talents in front of a great audience! The smiles and laughter on our students' faces is something you don't want to miss out on next year.

Daryl Bleich Memorial Toy Drive

The Annual Daryl Bleich Memorial Toy Drive took place on December 19th for the 32nd straight year. Through the generosity of HFI supporters and community members, our students and adult program participants received holiday gifts once again this year!

Daryl Bleich sadly passed away in 2017 but we still honor his memory and generosity each year. He will always be remembered for his dedication and support to the people and families we serve during the holidays.

Iona Prep Toy Drive

We were greeted by some very special visitors! Our good friends over at Iona Preparatory School came to visit with a bus load of presents for our school age, pre-school, Day Hab, and IRA programs, continuing the more than 35 year collaboration between our organizations. That's a lot of gifts! Iona students went door to door at our Hawthorne campus, spreading the holiday joy with all our students. The smiles and excitement on their faces are moments we will always cherish. Thank you for helping make our holidays even brighter! 🎁☃️✨
