IUCC Walks the Talk!

Over the last few months, IUCC youth & adults showed their support of New Journey Community Outreach by participating in the Coldest Night of the Year!

How?!? We’re so glad you asked…

  • Immanuel Preschool friends colored paper bags that were handed out at the walk with food & goodies
  • RISE Youth & Advisors volunteered to offer an enthusiastic welcome to all event participants as they arrived on the Penn State Berks campus
  • IUCC Member, Jen Tinsman, shared her time and talents as a planning team member of the inaugural event
  • A team of IUCC walkers laced up their walking shoes to complete the 2.5K or 5K loop -over 25 participants!
  • Many of YOU supported our efforts with your donations, encouragement and prayers - THANK YOU!

Along with 23 other community teams, IUCC contributed almost $3000 to the $29,000+ total raised! On the Coldest Night of the Year and beyond, we’ll keep walkin’ the talk against hunger and homelessness alongside our neighbors at New Journey Community Outreach.

Wednesday Night Lenten Soup & Study

March 1, 8, 15, 21, 29

Wedneday night kicked-off Evening Lent programming. Particpants enjoyed a variety of soups, salad, and bread. Guest speak, Ziv, engaged the group with his own story of how his mind was opened to many different faiths and some preconcieved notions about those faiths through his travel around the world.

If you missed last week, you can still attend next week and the weeks following. Each week features a different speaker with time for table conversation.
