Celebrate the Advent Season

Advent Candles

  • The fourth candle represents Love and is called the "Angel’s Candle." The angels announced that Jesus came to bring people close to God and to each other again. This color is also purple to represent the culmination of love through the Messiah.

Read Matthew 4:18-22. How do these verses from Matthew inspire you to read Scripture with new eyes?  How is God calling you to hear and sing along with Mary’s Song? Read Luke 1:39-55.

Social Outreach

Christmas Food Cards:
Thank you to everyone who donated for the Christmas Food cards! We are distributed almost $1,000 this week to local elementary schools and the House of Hope. Terrific job, Everyone!!
Food Closet:
Thank you all for continuing the flow of food donations for the Ecumenical Food Closet. We are really making a difference in helping our neighbors!
Volunteer Opportunity:
The Food Closet is still looking for volunteers during the week to organize the food and assist their “customers”. Just a few hours every week or two on Tuesday morning, Wednesday evening or Friday morning would be very helpful and also very rewarding. Please speak with Sue if you have an interest.

Thank you,

Sue Hinckley, Social Outreach Committee Chair

Last Sunday's Sermon

By Mother Susan

What do you consider “good news?” For me, receiving a call last week that my son, Brian, is coming home today instead of late in the week, is good news. Or maybe, it is a less than scary diagnosis that you were expecting. Or a job offer or raise. Any number of things can be called “good news.”
