Presenter's Bio

Born and raised in Nashville, TN, Parker graduated from UCLA in 2020 with a degree in Cognitive Science. His involvement in UCLA Radio during his senior year convinced him to pursue a career in music, and in 2021 he moved to NYC to start a music blog and work for the Beggars Group record label. That same year, Parker was diagnosed with ADHD and Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD). Since then, Parker has rigorously learned about these disorders and how to live a fulfilling life with them. He is now focused on lending a hand to others with ADHD and GAD.

In addition to being a board member with CHADD of Nassau County, he mentors children with ADHD through the Superpower Mentors Program. In his free time he enjoys running, bike-packing, and playing the tuba.

Workshop Presentation

Summary:

Research has consistently shown that exercise is an extremely powerful tool for managing ADHD. However, many people with ADHD struggle to incorporate exercise in their daily lives. This workshop will teach you how to establish health exercise routines that are fun and appealing to the ADHD brain, while highlighting the many research-backed benefits of exercise.

Parker will also share his personal experience using exercise to cope with ADHD. By the time this workshop is over, you'll be excited to get moving!

You'll learn about:

  • How exercise improves the mental and physical health of people with ADHD,
  • How to make exercise fun, accessible, and second nature,
  • Exercise as a cornerstone habit: the positive "knock-on" effects of establishing an exercise routine, and
  • Parker's person experience finding the right type of exercise for his ADHD type.
