Message from our Interim Principal

Hello Tolt families!

I hope you had a relaxing Spring Break. We did in our household. We were fortunate to spend time together, unplug from some routines, and recharge the batteries. I cannot believe we are in the Fourth Quarter of our school year. We do a lot of fun projects during this time of the year, like Tolt River Research Projects, Music Festivals and Performances, Celebrations of Learning, and many more! Here’s to a great start to Fourth Quarter!

As you may know, Tolt Middle School will have a new Principal for next school year. We are excited to welcome candidates to Tolt and our district next week. As part of the process, we will have a small group of students that get to take candidates on a tour of our campus and interact with them. This is a wonderful opportunity for our students, staff, and community to share with these people our little slice of heaven.

Thank you to our amazing PTSA for organizing our upcoming Staff Appreciation Week from May 8 through May 12. I am grateful for our staff that does so much every day for our students. Please consider sharing with those staff members who have made a positive impact on your student just how grateful you are for them.

State testing is coming up during the month of May. All students will take the SBA in English Language Arts and Math, and 8th graders will take the WCAS in science. More information to follow. Your help in ensuring your student is at school and ready to do their best on testing days is appreciated.

Hope you have a great weekend.

Scott Petersen, Interim Principal

Middle school Physical Education (PE) classes give students opportunities for movement, aerobic activity, skill-building, and fresh air during the school day. Tolt’s PE team of Ms. Bawden, Ms. Lindell, and Mr. Stull keep our students moving, utilizing the Tolt gym, track, fields, wrestling room/aux gym, and outdoor courts. Your levy dollars support Physical Education classes in Riverview schools--thank you!

I am so excited to share that due to the generosity of our amazing Tolt PTSA we have a new AED (Automatic External Defibrillator) available to travel with our students to away events! I am absolutely ecstatic about this as it will provide greater protection for our students and staff when they are away from Tolt’s campus. Thank you Tolt PTSA for supporting our students’ health!
