A message from our Executive Director during

Child Abuse Prevention Month

Dear Friends,

It’s extremely difficult to think that child abuse and neglect is happening in our community, but, sadly, it is. At the end of March, there were 95 CASA volunteers advocating for 162 children in Brown County who are under court protection due to abuse and/or neglect and we served 223 children last year alone. I wish that number was zero but am glad that we are able to provide CASA volunteers to advocate for them until they are safe and thriving in permanent homes.

Each April, we recognize both National Child Abuse Prevention Month and National Volunteer Week and the important work we do alongside so many caring volunteers who are making a lasting impact on the lives of our most vulnerable children, many of whom are living in foster care.

We’re grateful for every CASA volunteer, donor, partner, staff, board and advisory council member who helps to make a difference for children and families and keep our mission moving forward!

We recently launched a new 3-year strategic plan focused on four key areas – engagement and awareness, financial stability, mission and programs, and people. Your faith in the CASA mission inspires us to continue to strengthen our organization and work hard to recruit, screen, train and support CASA volunteers to ensure that all children in need of advocacy have a CASA volunteer by their side.

Together, we are all changing stories!

With gratitude,

Kristin Jacobs, Executive Director

Welcome New CASA Volunteers!

CASA volunteers who completed the March pre-service training session were officially sworn in by Judge Hock and Judge Zakowski on April 10!

Congratulations and thank you for making the commitment to provide a strong voice and critical advocacy for children in need in our community!

Happy National Volunteer Week!

During the week of April 16 and all year long, we celebrate our CASA volunteers! CASA volunteers selflessly share their time, talents, and hearts to provide advocacy for children in our community. CASA of Brown County thrives because of our volunteers’ dedication to making a difference.

An additional thank you to those who volunteer on our Board of Directors, Advisory Council, and for special events. Thank you for helping to advance our mission and vision!
