Dear Friends,
It’s extremely difficult to think that child abuse and neglect is happening in our community, but, sadly, it is. At the end of March, there were 95 CASA volunteers advocating for 162 children in Brown County who are under court protection due to abuse and/or neglect and we served 223 children last year alone. I wish that number was zero but am glad that we are able to provide CASA volunteers to advocate for them until they are safe and thriving in permanent homes.
Each April, we recognize both National Child Abuse Prevention Month and National Volunteer Week and the important work we do alongside so many caring volunteers who are making a lasting impact on the lives of our most vulnerable children, many of whom are living in foster care.
We’re grateful for every CASA volunteer, donor, partner, staff, board and advisory council member who helps to make a difference for children and families and keep our mission moving forward!
We recently launched a new 3-year strategic plan focused on four key areas – engagement and awareness, financial stability, mission and programs, and people. Your faith in the CASA mission inspires us to continue to strengthen our organization and work hard to recruit, screen, train and support CASA volunteers to ensure that all children in need of advocacy have a CASA volunteer by their side.
Together, we are all changing stories!
With gratitude,
