UUFF eNews - Week of March 20, 2025

Sunday 11am Service

Sunday, March 23rd, 11am: "Shifting Seasons." It’s the Equinox! But does it feel more like early Summer? We perceive the seasonal changes, and some find them holy, but is climate change affecting our connection to the Wheel of the Year? This Sunday, we'll celebrate Spring Equinox and hear what Melly has to say about "Shifting Seasons."

You can attend service in person at the fellowship building or view it remotely online via Facebook Live Stream. To attend live via Facebook, wait until 11am Central Standard Time (CST) and go to https://www.facebook.com/share/15mtXvhFXd/ and click on "Watch Live Video. A Facebook account is not required for viewing.

Special Note: UUFF is seeking, for immediate hire, an additional paid Childcare Assistant to help care for our precious little ones on Sunday mornings! Anyone interested learning more about this opportunity can visit https://www.uufayetteville.org/employment-opportunities/

10am Mindful Discussions Group for Adults - Downstairs Common Area

Topic this Sunday: "The Importance of Rest During Stressful Times: 7 Types of Rest." During challenging times like these, many people find their energy levels fluctuating due to stress and uncertainty. Many struggle to get the rest they need to carry on. According to the Mindful Health Solutions website, "rest is essential for our overall health and well-being, but it is not just about getting enough sleep at night. There are seven types of rest that we need to maintain our emotional, physical, and spiritual balance." This week, we will explore each type of rest and ways to incorporate them into our daily routines. We hope you'll join us.

The S.A.V.E. Act (Safeguarding American Voter Eligibility, Senate Bill 8281) has already been passed by the House of Representatives, and it is now in a Senate committee which could soon bring it to a vote. If passed, this bill would disenfranchise millions of voters, because it would require that you have a birth certificate or passport to prove your citizenship so that you can register to vote and/or cast a ballot. Please contact our U.S. Senators, Tom Cotton and John Boozman, and tell them your thoughts on SB 8281.

For further details, see this video, The SAVE Act: Five Things to Know - Common Cause, or do some checking of your own.
