We pray that this newsletter and its contents that we share will help you on your daily journey with Christ, causing you to grow in the ways of the Lord.

The giftings of the fivefold ministry (Apostle, Prophet, Evangelist, Pastor, Teacher) should have one purpose, and that is the teaching and equipping of the saints until we come into unity. This is why we teach so that you can grow stronger in your faith until unity comes in the body of Christ.

Take what you have learned and share it with others so that we can further the kingdom for Jesus Christ.

DAVID: FROM REJECTION TO RULER

There are so many people that have poured their lives into those they love and are now facing the rejection of those same people. It is probably one of the hardest things to deal with because it leaves you broken. Do not let that brokenness control your destiny.

King David did not start out as a king. He was the baby brother that took care of his father’s sheep. Then, when King Saul was rejected by God and lost his anointing, David was anointed by Samuel to be king, but it did not take place for a long time. His brothers mocked him when he was sent by his father to where a battle with the Philistines was taking place. He was the youngest in the family and was not a warrior in the king’s army.  Not being in the army did not disqualify him from being a warrior. He had successfully taken care of his father’s sheep and dealt with a lion and a bear and rid his father’s flock from those enemies.

In 1 Samuel 17 we see David at Dothan. His father had sent him there with some food for his brothers that were in Saul’s army. Goliath had been intimidating the Israelites and when David got there, fear was ruling the Israeli camp. Then David heard that whoever killed Goliath would be rewarded by King Saul and would receive riches and the king’s daughter in marriage. His brothers heard him asking about that situation and in 1 Samuel 17:28 it says, “And Eliab his eldest brother heard when he [David] spake unto the men; and Eliab’s anger was kindled against David, and he said , ‘Why camest thou down hither? And with whom hast thou left those FEW SHEEP in the wilderness? I know thy pride, and the naughtiness of thine heart: for thou art come down that thou mighest see the battle.’ 29 And David said, ‘What have I now done? Is there not a cause?’”

The thing about it is, there was NO BATTLE. Goliath had intimated Saul and his army, and they were not doing anything. When David saw this, the anointing that had come upon him when he was anointed by Samuel rose up on the inside of him. He could see with “spiritual eyes” what his brothers and Saul could not see. He knew that his strength came from the Lord and not from man and was determined with God’s help to do something about Goliath.

So often people try to win a battle with their own strength; their own intelligence; and their own reasoning, and this was the case on that battlefield. The enemy comes in and intimidates those walking in the flesh, insinuating that they are finished. Then when someone comes that has an anointing upon them, and makes a stand against the adversary, they are attacked by those walking in the flesh. It would be easy to walk away from a situation like this and let those that are losing the battle live with their loss, but that isn’t God’s way.

David stood his resolve and fought Goliath with the anointing and strength given to him by God, and we know the rest of the story, he won the battle.

Then, there was the battle of jealousy for David that came from the king and from those that followed in the flesh. David had a continuous battle with King Saul for many years. He did what was right and was not respected for it but still loved King Saul. His strength in the Lord was often rejected by jealousy.

Are you in that place? Have you done what is right, but others were angry and jealous of your victory? Then, you must be like David and still love them and forgive them. In time, David received the kingdom, and in time, God will raise you up too. When that happens, even the ones that forsook you will see it was God in you all the time that brought the victory to you.

Never let rejection control you. Never let being forsaken stop you. Never let the naysayers control your destiny, because if God is for you, who can be against you?
