Community Outreach fulfills the JPS mission of “transforming healthcare delivery for the communities we serve” by strengthening and building community links, internal and external to the network, and improving the health and well-being of the residents in Tarrant County.

Community Outreach Updates


Community Outreach celebrated National Heart Health Month with a Go Red Lunch & Learn at the Como Community Center on February 25. JPS nurses educated attendees on heart health and how to recognize the signs and symptoms of stroke.

National Nutrition Month®

This year's theme is Fuel for the Future! During March, learn more about Registered Dietician Nutritionists and Nutrition and Dietetics Technicians and discover the importance of fueling bodies at every age, plus eating with sustainability in mind.

JPS Health Network in collaboration with the Tarrant Area Food Bank has brought the RED Bus to several JPS locations. The purpose of the RED Bus is to provide resource assistance and nutrition education to families experiencing food insecurity.

COVID-19 & Flu Updates

Do you need a test or vaccine for COVID-19 or the flu?

If you are a patient at JPS:

JPS patients can use MyChart or call 817-702-1100 to schedule an appointment with their PCP.

If you are NOT a patient at JPS:

Those needing COVID-19 testing or vaccines can visit tarrantcounty.com to find a location nearest you.

What is Long COVID?


Long COVID is a condition where long-term health problems persist or appear after the typical recovery period of COVID-19.

As part of a COVID-19 Health Disparity Grant, JPS Community Outreach is conducting a voluntary survey to help us improve and reduce COVID-19 health disparities. This survey will help us gather information about ways people reduce the spread of COVID-19.

Community Partner Spotlight

Center for Transforming Lives


Center for Transforming Lives works side-by-side with women and their children to disrupt the cycle of poverty by providing comprehensive housing services, early childhood education, economic mobility services, and clinical counseling, addressing their most critical needs.  Each year, CTL works with over 3,000 people, from more than 1,000 families in Tarrant County, to provide comprehensive services no matter where they are on their journey from poverty to prosperity.  CTL's services are trauma-informed, two-generational, and incorporate best practices rooted in nationally backed research to ensure women and children achieve long-term success.
