NISD schools closed on Friday, April 7
All Northwest ISD campuses and offices will be closed on Friday, April 7, for a staff flex day and student holiday.

Students will return to school and all classes will resume on Monday, April 10.

As a reminder and for planning purposes, the district calendar can be viewed at www.nisdtx.org/calendars.
Four early childhood centers proposed in 2023 bond package
According to research, early childhood education prepares students for the school environment. As part of Northwest ISD’s 2023 bond package, four early childhood centers are proposed to increase our district’s ability to serve young children. The facilities would be located in the north, east, south and west of our district. For more information about these facilities, including more specific locations, visit www.nisdtxbond.org.

Four NISD DI teams advance to Globals
After scoring in the top six of their challenge group at the Lone Star Finals, four Northwest ISD Destination Imagination teams have advanced to the elite Global Finals competition!

Globals— the highest achievement possible for DI teams from across the country — provides students and team leaders the opportunity to participate in the world’s largest celebration of creativity and problem solving in Kansas City from May 20 through 23.

Way to go Ultimate Skeleton Dragons, Hexanauts, Fire Breathing Rubber Dux and The Wabbits!
Big Event gives back to local communities
Hundreds of students and staff members from across Northwest ISD served throughout their respective communities during the district's annual Big Event!

Volunteers completed yard work, picked up trash, painted cemetery benches, bathed animals and more.
Sign up for upcoming test prep bootcamps
To help Northwest ISD students transition to the next phase of their futures, the College, Career and Military Readiness website contains a large number of resources including information about paying for college, workforce transition and assessment preparation.

Several test preparation bootcamps — including SAT and TSIA2 — are scheduled throughout the spring. Learn more and sign up today!

Are you registered to vote?
Have you registered to vote? If you plan to vote in the May 6 school board or bond election, including early voting, the last day to register is April 6.

If you’ve recently moved, you must update your voter registration to cast a ballot. Register online at www.votetexas.gov.

Save the date for upcoming sports physicals
All incoming Northwest ISD 7th through 12th grade athletes are required to have a yearly sports physical. Please make plans to attend your high school or feeder pattern school offering upcoming exams. To read more about dates, times and to purchase appointment tickets, click here.
Annual plant sale scheduled for April 14-15
Mark your calendars for the annual Northwest ISD Plant Sale, hosted by the district's FFA programs!

This year, the event will take place for two days only, April 14-15!
Transfer application window open through May 15
Families interested in requesting a campus transfer for their students for the 2023-2024 school year can do so until 5 p.m. Monday, May 15, through an online transfer form. All transfer requests are considered on a case-by-case basis, as each student’s request is unique.

Northwest ISD allows families to request transfers to another campus for the next school year during a window that opens annually on April 1. Transfers requests are subject to the capacity of a campus, as several schools are closed to transfers because they are near or over their designed student enrollment.
Graduation website online for Class of 2023
Attention Class of 2023! Graduation is officially less than three months away.

Students and families may visit the district's graduation website for ceremony dates, times and locations. The graduation page will be continuously updated with relevant information — including live stream links — when available.

If not, you should! Northwest ISD maintains six major social media accounts, where timely information and school highlights are shared frequently. Following these accounts will keep you updated on all things NISD!
Resource Store provides free support to NISD teachers and students
The Northwest ISD Education Foundation's resource store and library provides immediate support to NISD teachers and students through free resources and educational materials. NISD teachers can “shop” for school and classroom supplies, snack packs, clothing items and books. All items are free to district educators!

Since the beginning of the 2022-2023 school year, the store has welcomed more than 350 in-person shoppers and received 500+ online order requests. Because of overwhelming needs, we are asking for your help! The store is currently out of pencils and markers. Books of all reading levels are also in high demand. If you feel inclined to help, please visit the store's online wishlist.
Mobile Food Pantry open on April 15
Northwest ISD is partnering with Tarrant Area Food Bank and the Northwest ISD Education Foundation to offer a monthly mobile market to provide groceries and assistance to families in need.

Time: 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, April 15

Location: NISD Administration Building
2001 Texan Drive in Justin

Food distribution will be in the parking lot next to NISD Stadium until 11 a.m. Food and supplies are provided on a first-come, first-served basis.
