Board of Supervisors Meeting Available

The Derry Township Board of Supervisors held its regular scheduled meeting on Tuesday, February 14th at 7:00 pm.

Waste Management Contract-

Year 2 Pricing

Residents will see a price increase starting in April 2023, effective in the 2nd quarter billing based on

the original bid pricing with Waste Management. Residents will receive this increase in their March billing. To review details of the increase, click this link.

Department of Public Works-

Seasonal Laborer

The Township of Derry, Public Works Department has immediate openings for Seasonal Laborers. Work will consist of grounds and parks maintenance, leaf collection, and winter snow removal. Starting wage is $17.38 per hour with the flexibility in the schedule of

Notice of Public Hearing

Notice of Hearing The Derry Township Board of Supervisors will reconvene the public hearing for the Governor Road Crossing on Wednesday, February 22, 2023, at 6:00 pm in the main meeting room of the Administration building at the Derry Township Municipal Complex, 600 Clearwater Road, Hershey, PA. There are additional hearings for Tuesday, March 21, 2023, and Wednesday, March 29, 2023, both are scheduled at 6:00 pm.

Jonathan Eshenour Trail

The Hershey Rotary Club partnered with Rotary District 7390 to provide a grant for trail safety and directional signs on the Jonathan Eshenour Memorial Trail. The Derry Township Public Works Department has been working over the past several weeks to install these fantastic upgrades along our trail system. Thank you to the Rotary Club and our Public Works Department for making our trails safer and more convenient for our active community! Shred-It Event

Protect your personal information and bring the documents that you no longer need to the Township’s Shred-It Event on Saturday, April 15, 2023, from

8:00 am to 10:45 am at the Public Works Facility,

650 Clearwater Road. This event is for residents only and is limited to two bags/boxes per household. To learn more about this event, click this link.

Tax Association Information

As of Wednesday, December 28, 2022, the Tax Association Office is permanently closed. Regarding the 2022 Fourth Quarter Local Service Tax (LST) remittance, please be advised that the 2022 Fourth Quarter LST payments should be remitted to the

Derry Township Tax Association at the following address: 610 Clearwater Road, Hershey, PA 17033.


Local Service Tax and Occupation Tax will

be collected by the Keystone Collections Group 

(866-539-1100) starting January 1, 2023. Real Estate taxes and Township street light assessments

will be collected by the Dauphin County Treasurer’s Office (717-780-6550), beginning January 1, 2023.

This 6-week class (fee) is offered on Thursdays from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm at the Campbelltown Academy for Music and Arts. Both art classes are sponsored by the Hershey Art Association. Following the service, a light lunch served by the hosting congregation is available at a nominal cost. The first scheduled service begins on Ash Wednesday, February 22, 2023, at St. Joan of Arc Roman Catholic Church, 359 West Areba Avenue, Hershey, PA.

Derry Township Community Cats is the Township’s trap, neuter/spay, vaccinate, and return program for free-roaming cats in our community. Last year, 68 cats went through the clinic, over half of which were able to go into rescue programs. Our first two clinics of the year are on March 14, 2023, and April 11, 2023. Annual Citizenship & Patriotism Event

The Hershey Lions Club recently recognized three local public servants as part of their annual Citizenship & Patriotism event. Annually, they honor a Firefighter, Educator, and Law Enforcement Officer of the Year. Each of the individuals was selected by their respective organizations and colleagues. This year's honorees are as follows: Jarrett Heisey - Firefighter, Hershey Volunteer Fire Department; Scott Harman - Educator, Derry Township School District; Nicholas Kauffman - Law Enforcement Officer, Derry Township Police Department. This year's event was held at the Hershey Volunteer Fire Department. The club is thankful to them for hosting and to all of the honorees for their service.
