First Gen Students Applying for College

Applying to university is stressful and hard especially if your parents didn't attend college and you're on your own. First Gen student Itzel Aparicio had the exact same struggle. She is currently a senior majoring in physiology at Seattle Pacific University. She wants to teach you how you can prepare, apply and succeed in school.

Sign up in FlexiSched or complete this form to attend this session on Thursday, December 14, 9:55-10:40am in the College and Career Center. Please email Ms. Wu at rwu@lwsd.org if you have any questions.

LINKS Lunch Buddies Needed

In the LINKS (Looking Into the Needs of Kids and Schools) Lunch Buddy Program, we bring students together with caring adults. Mentors come to schools once weekly for one hour in a preassigned area to eat, play games, make crafts, talk and more, in support of students who need a little extra one-on-one attention.

Male mentors and Spanish-speaking mentors are especially needed. Email lunchbuddy@lwsd.org for more information, or visit lwsd.org/links. LINKS is part of the Lake Washington School District, with additional funding provided by the Lake Washington Schools Foundation.
