Seniors Celebrate College Acceptances
Seniors had the opportunity to celebrate their recent college acceptances with "College Apparel Day" on Thursday, sporting collegiate wear from the institutions they'll be headed to in the fall.

Even faculty and staff got in on the action, representing their alma maters.

Seen here: senior Riley Good (Fordham Class of '27) with Admissions Director, and Fordham Alumna Ann Rento.
Alumnae Induction Ceremony
Attention: Alumnae. You are invited to a special ceremony to induct the newest alumnae on Tuesday, May 23 at 9 a.m.

There we will match each of our 33 graduating seniors with an alumna who will present her with an AHN Silver Bell, which signifies her passage from student to alumna.

Your participation in celebrating this special occasion will be greatly appreciated.

Please RSVP no later than Friday, May 18.
AHN Commemorates National
Day of Prayer
Dr. Alejandro Sela (also known as art teacher Mrs. Sela's father-in-law) visited 11th grade Theology classes on Thursday, the National Day of Prayer, to tell the story of Our Lady of Guadalupe.

A Prayer to Our Lady of Guadalupe

Remember, O most gracious Virgin of Guadalupe, that in your apparitions on Mount Tepeyac you promised to show pity and compassion to all who, loving and trusting you, seek your help and protection. Accordingly, listen now to our supplications and grant us consolation and relief.

We are full of hope that, relying on your help, nothing can trouble or affect us.

As you have remained with us through your admirable image, so now obtain for us the graces we need.

Amen.
Eighth Grade Class Visits Shrine in Auriesville
Monday was a special day for the eighth grade class, led by Mrs. Eller and Ms. Moran, which headed to Auriesville for a retreat at Our Lady of Martyrs Shrine.

On their tour they learned about the history of the shrine dedicated to three Jesuit missionaries who were martyred there, and St. Kateri Tekakwitha, who was born there. They were also able to participate in a scavenger hunt.
Sophomore Writing Submission Receives Prestigious Designation
Congratulations to sophomore Ashley Lee for achieving the "Superior" designation in the Achievement Awards in Writing Program from the National Council of Teachers of English.

Ashley was evaluated for her expression of ideas, language use, unique perspective, and voice for her submission, "Return," a fictional tale based on her grandmother's return to North Korea, which she had fled when she was a student.
Spring Gala a Smashing Success

Greece is the Word for Easter Break
A special thank you to Admissions Director Ann Rento for leading another successful spring break trip, this one to Greece, along with Mrs. McGarry and Ms. Witherspoon acting as chaperones.

15 students had the opportunity to visit the Acropolis, hike up a mountain to the oldest Greek town of Mystras to see the statue of King Leonidas, and visit the archaeological site of Mycenae on their way to the town of Napflio.

There was food, dancing, and plenty of sight-seeing to do, as well as many museums to visit.

Where will AHN take students next year? Stay tuned...
