Dear RSU 21 Families,

Happy Friday! Hope you are ready for a dry weekend for a change!

The annual report for 2023 is complete and available here. It highlights many of the accomplishments and innovations we have made this year in the district. Print copies are also available at each of our schools, town halls, and libraries. Please take a look!

Our beloved custodian couple, Mr. and Mrs. Jellison, received more media coverage this week...check out the story from Channel 6. We are so grateful for Seacoast Online and WCSH-TV highlighting the Jellisons!

Lastly, our FINAL Family University session for this school year is scheduled for Wednesday, May 31st at 6:00 p.m. in the MSK Library. Maine Boys to Men are returning to facilitate a conversation on consent and boundary setting. Please register for the event here and we'll see you at the end of the month.

Enjoy the weekend!

Much love,

Dr. Cooper

Here we Grow Again!

M.L. Day Launches Community Garden

In just one day, K-5 students resurrected the garden structures that students built last year and brought them through the parking lot to their new home (along with all the materials for new raised beds), prepped and planted sunflowers along the playground fence, rinsed the buckets from last year, filled the buckets with beautiful new soil, and put the buckets in our structures for planting next week. K-1 students planted peas in pots and filled our greenhouses with the help from Master Gardener, Leslie Lingren!

Thanks to the generous support of the community, our new Athletic Complex is open! It’s only been a week and already the requests to buy commemorative bricks have been overwhelming. We hear you Ram Nation!

Between now and June 15th, you can purchase a brick to be placed in the patio at the Complex. Small bricks are $250 and can have 40 characters, larger bricks are $500 and can have 62 characters and one sports icon. What a fantastic way to honor a graduating senior, your favorite teacher, or a loved one.

Community Resources

In a moment of crisis, you do not have to be alone.

Sometimes you need a conversation--not an internet search.

Dial 2-1-1 for the Maine Hotline. This service can help with issues like acute crisis, financial assistance, mental health, addiction treatment, heatlh care, or heating and utilities assistance. Additionally, the national Suicide Hotline is 9-8-8.

Here is a list of more resources available to everyone throughout our district and beyond.
