Christian Serving Opportunity
Matthew 25: 40 “…whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for Me.”

Right now there is a dire need for men & women from our church to help feed the homeless & those with food insecurity at the Bayshore Park in Charlotte Harbor. A sister church, Christ Community United Methodist Church in Harbour Heights has had their “Ministry of Meals” going on for over 2 years. Every Tuesday through Friday from 4:30 pm - 5:30 pm they have provided home cooked meals to the less fortunate. Their entire active membership is 60 individuals! They are calling out for help to adjunct their diminishing numbers by asking for:
1) “servers”, to pick up prepared meals, take it to the park and serve it and/or
2) “cooks”, those that can take the food supplies the church has in their freezers and prepare a meal for pick up (also, you can purchase & make your own meals of choice)
They serve 12-14 people at the park each evening.

Please pray and see if our Lord Jesus is calling you to help this vital ministry in our outreach community. Their need is now, your timely response would be appreciated and thank you.

A Word from Worship
Greetings New Life Church family,

I shared last week that it had been a quiet week, as compared to the weeks preparing for Easter, but as always, plans are being made for some special, fun events for the upcoming months.  Of course, Tim's annual garage sale is happening right now! This is a huge event, with the Life Center filled with incredible bargains, all to raise money for the Youth program. So be sure and come out and shop on Friday evening or Saturday to support this great cause.

We are praying and planning a 24/10 prayer vigil, in our dedicated prayer room.  More info to come but as I confessed last week, I felt as if my prayer life was a little off. From my own personal experience, one of the easiest ways for me to get back on track is to get back to the basics. It's so easy to think that I can resolve problems on my own or with earthly assistance rather than first taking everything to Him. I am immediately reminded of what a privilege it is to have an intimate relationship with God through prayer. It's natural to feel so overwhelmed when faced with life difficulties. We feel no hope, no solution to our dilemmas, or no positive end to our suffering. It doesn't have to be like this! The gift of prayer is so powerful because we are interacting with the Almighty who is the true source of our help. Jeremiah 32:27 "Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh; is anything too difficult for Me?" Time spent in prayer helps us get to know Him better -- and while we can pray anywhere, what better place than our prayer room? You can sign up for one-hour time slots, believe me, it goes by quickly, or you can partner with a friend.  The Lord loves us. His love is not like human love, unpredictable or waiting on our response. Time in prayer shows us that we can truly count on Him to help us. He is there for us, and never rejects or abandons us.

I know that many of us have had amazing experiences through prayer during previous prayer room journeys. I'm looking for people who are willing to share their stories. If you have a prayer room testimony please let me know at my email below or give me a call.

Watch The Bridge for sign-up info for all the exciting events to come in the next several weeks. I'm praying for you!
