Epic Updates

Attention Epic Connect practices! Prescription cost estimates: Based on your feedback, you now have the option to click on the “estimate” button in Epic Connect as you write a prescription to determine the true cost of a medication based on a patient’s individual insurance coverage. This new functionality will calculate prescription coverage for your patient and make you aware – before the prescription is sent – if it is likely to be covered and how much it will cost. Lower cost options will be suggested to help guide you, helping reduce back-and-forth with pharmacists looking for alternatives. Share your feedback on this new feature with your Clinical Informatics team.

Epic Hyperdrive update coming Dec. 2: Starting Dec. 2, access to Epic Hyperspace in the inpatient setting and Epic Connect will be through Hyperdrive – Epic’s new specialized browser. This allows for simpler navigation while leaving the functionality and processes in Epic unchanged. You will log into Epic the same way and through the same access point you do today. Stay tuned for resources in the coming weeks.

Don’t miss your chance to share your Epic feedback: We want your input to further enhance the use of Epic in the inpatient setting. It’s easy. Fill out this brief survey by Nov. 17.

Epic Update: Ambulatory Epic Connect: Real time Rx benefits, enter/edit results and more.
