A Message from Dale Selover | |
…the star which the Wise Men had seen in the East went before them, till it came to rest over the place where the child was. ~ Matthew 2:9 |
Dear Beloved Community,
As I write this reflection, it is Epiphany. On this day we hear once again the story of the wise men who, seeking the Christ Child, follow the star.
I think it is safe to say that, like the wise men, those of us who are a part of the House Next Door Community are seekers. I have heard you say many times, in many ways: “I’m a seeker…I just want to be heard…I’m seeking a deeper relationship with God…I just can’t share these experiences at church…I’m seeking community.”
The House Next Door is a safe space and a place of grace where seekers are invited and welcomed with open arms. Here questions are encouraged, experiences are treasured, and hunger for God is fed. Here you are seen, heard, loved and accepted for who you are, just as you are.
| |
I encourage you to come and see for yourself how, whenever you get a bunch of seekers together, community forms. Below you will find numerous opportunities to seek to your heart’s content. Whether engaging in spiritual direction, participating in a workshop or retreat, walking the Labyrinth or staying at the house for respite, know that the One whom you seek is waiting to welcome you with open arms.
With love, your fellow seeker,
Dale

I thank my God every time I remember you, constantly praying with joy
in every one of my prayers for all of you, because of your sharing in the gospel

We Thank God for You!
As our Tenth Anniversary comes to a close, we take this opportunity to thank you and to thank God for you.
The House Next Door has been blessed by the leadership of our Spiritual Formation Team and Vision Team; our programs have been varied and deeply meaningful, thanks to our gifted workshop and retreat leaders; operations run smoothly, efficiently and lovingly thanks to our House Manager, Laura Glatz; and we have created a beautiful community, thanks to each and every one of you who has walked through our doors and graced us with your presence and your prayers.
We also want to say thank you for the generous financial donations that we have received in this Tenth Anniversary year. We received a matching grant of $4000! And we met our 10th Anniversary goal of $10,000! To God be the Glory!
Please know that it is your gifts that make it possible for us to offer excellent programming with the finest leaders. Your generosity also makes it possible for everyone to participate, no matter their ability to pay.
As we sing in the beloved chant, Surely God is in this place...holy ground. We could not be more grateful.
With love and a grateful heart,
Dale
