Arapahoe County Dates and Deadlines Document Updated

In order to keep our 4-H families and volunteers informed on 4-H dates and deadlines, the 4-H team has created a document containing an updated list of county-wide dates and deadlines for the 4-H year. This document will be continuously updated and a link will be included in the newsletters and on the Arapahoe County 4-H Member Resources webpage. Dog classes with Janele and Briana Caldwell have started at the Arapahoe County Fairgrounds in the East Wing. She would be happy to provide more details on times.

Attention Cat Project Members!

Please make sure to enter in your Cat ID information in 4HOnline. That includes pictures and vaccination records. Without that information it is considered incomplete. Please remember that members need to be 8 and older as of December 31 to enroll in animal projects. The deadline to submit your animal ID info is Saturday, May 1. Click on the image to the right for instructions.

Please see the dates below for 2023 Arapahoe County 4-H Shooting Sports events. We are still requiring that members attending a practice use the following link to register for each date. All dates and times are on the signup genius. If a practice is cancelled, all members who signed up for that date will be notified. DO NOT REGISTER FOR A PRACTICE IF YOU DO NOT PLAN ON ATTENDING.

HUNTERS SAFETY AND PRACTICE CARDS:

Please make sure that you complete the Hunters Safety Course that is offered by Colorado Parks and Wildlife. You may go to https://cpw.state.co.us for more information. You will need to upload your card in 4Honline if you haven’t already.

When you attend your practices please make sure to take your practice cards to keep updated on your practice record. If you are new you can get those from the certified shooting sports volunteers.

Arapahoe County 4-H MQA

The Meat Quality Assurance Program is a requirement for our county fair. All new livestock members and members that aged up as of 12/31/2022 (aged up youth are those in their first year as an intermediate, age 11, or first year as a senior, age 14) are required to attend a MQA training.

We have another MQA held with Adams County at Bennett High School on Thursday, May 11 between 4:30 – 6:30 PM. Email Shay sflorez@arapahoegov.com and Kenzie KKimmel@adcogov.org to RSVP.

If you are unable to attend that MQA here are additional opportunities in surrounding counties, please RSVP to the MQA and when you sign in let them know you are from Arapahoe County.

Hardcopies are being distributed to organizational leaders for 4-H families this month. The Fairbook can also be downloaded by clicking here.

FairEntry

FairEntry will open for online entries on June 1, 2023. June 15 is the deadline for fair entries, with a late deadline of June 16 - 22 with a $25.00 fee per 4-H Exhibitor.

NEW This Year!

Attention FCS & General project members and parents! This year you will have the ability to schedule your own interview times with the judges for Fair! This will be done in FairEntry after you have done your entries but BEFORE you hit the "submit" button. Jean has set this up in FairEntry and she will be putting together a tip sheet for you. She will send it out to you via email and it will be posted on our website when she gets it done.
