Hello everybody!
We raise awareness this week for the call of God in each of our lives to follow Jesus, especially in the service of priesthood, the diaconate, and consecrated religious life. Please pray for more vocations to these callings. I also offer my own word of gratitude to our veterans who served our country sacrificially as we approach Veterans Day. Thank you! One of the gifts they have helped secure is our participation in our democracy. I hope you were able to pray, discern, and vote your conscience today. This weekend, I will be offering a “State of the Parish” reflection at the masses and you should be receiving our annual Accountability Report soon. Thank you for our strong start to the Catholic Services Appeal. You’ll see a visual representation of “Do This in Memory of Me” and our participation in CSA in the gathering space with a chalice and hosts, each of which represents one participant in the appeal. There’s a lot going on!
Fr. Quan left yesterday for a two week trip to visit with family in Vietnam. Please pray for him, his travels, and the time he has with his family. I look forward to his return on November 21st. Fr. Tony remains as the Administrator Pro Tempore at St. Gabriel Catholic Church. He is doing well, but it looks like he will remain in that role at least through the month of November. While I get to see him regularly at the Rectory, I look forward to his renewed availability and presence at St. Pats. Fr. Oz is also doing well and remaining active as he resides at Nazareth Home. Please also keep him in your prayers.
A big congratulations to our 5/6th and 7/8th Celtic Knights football teams. They are both Toy Bowl champions for the Catholic Schools Athletic Association. Well done!
Finally, please note that the parish office will close at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 9, for a staff outing.
Thank you for all you do in responding to the Holy Spirit and making St. Pats a vital and vibrant beacon of Christ’s love. God bless you!
Peace,
Fr. Jeff
