Wine & Whiskey Tasting For Keith School
Saturday, April 22nd | 4pm - 6:30pm
In-store wine & whiskey tasting. There will be three tables with 13 wines and 11 whiskies to sample and the cost is $20 per person. Tickets can be purchased over the phone, at the store, or at the door. We will also have charcuterie boards and NA drinks.

Tequila Tasting
Saturday, April 29th | 4pm - 6:30pm
In-store Tequila & Mezcal tasting. There will be four tables with 20+ tequilas to sample and the cost is $20 per person. Tickets can be purchased over the phone or at the store. Some of the brands that will be featured are: El Tequileno, Volans, Cazcanes, Ayate, Banhez, Ana Maria, Libelula, and many more.

May First Friday Wine Tasting
Friday, May 5th | 5:30 - 8:00pm
Join us to help raise money for KFACT: Keeping Families And Communities Together. We will sample 24 different wines from around the world. Admission is a $20 cash or check donation to KFACT.

Wine Tasting Club
Third Tuesday of the Month, April 18th | 5:30 - 7:00 PM
Wine Tasting Club will meet the third Tuesday of every month. The cost is $20 per person. Only 12 spots available per month. Our staff will organize the tasting by varietal, appellation, or region. Each tasting will consist of 6 to 8 wines and will be tasted blind. The blind tasting format is guaranteed to provide ample opportunity for lively discussion and learning. May Topic: TBD

New Orleans is known as the birthplace of American cocktails. Two men who contributed richly to the cocktail culture in New Orleans were John Schiller and Thomas Handy. Schiller, a bartender working in New York, found his way to New Orleans and by 1860 was operating the world-famous Sazerac Coffeehouse in the French Quarters. Handy, a native of Maryland, was working for Schiller at the coffeehouse. Handy later went on to establish a successful importing and wholesale liquor business. Handy and Schiller's roles in the early days of New Orleans' cocktails would serve as inspiration for over 150 years of libations in America's most unique city.

The Amador Barbera has a ruby purple color of moderate depth. The aroma centers on raspberry, cherry, and currant, along with a perfumed note of violets and lavender. The aromas are framed with notes of vanilla, nutmeg, and hazelnut. This combination generates a gravitational pull that is hard to resist. Barbera is known for its brightness due to a little extra acid in the grapes similar to a Pippin or Granny Smith apple. This often makes for a zesty, tangy, sometimes zippy flavor. However, our 2019 Barbera has a savory balanced succulence on a soft luscious texture. The red fruit flavors are delivered by a wine with a smooth round feel that transitions seamlessly to an elegant finish with notes of caramel, and gently toasted oak. This is an easy drinking red wine that pairs well with Mediterranean cuisine. Barbera was my father’s pizza wine. I can’t recall sharing a pie with Dad without a bottle of Barbera close by.

The color of the 2020 Petite Sirah is deep and inky. When swirled up the sides of the glass the wine seems reluctant to return to the bowl; the purple color slowly retreats from the inner walls of the glass leaving a rose-colored sheen to the crystal. Big jammy scents of ripe concentrated blackberry, black raspberry and boysenberry dominate the aroma. The heavily toasted interiors of the French oak barrels add a smoky dark chocolate to the bouquet. Big creamy mouth coating flavors of ripe boysenberry and blackberry are accompanied by a note of caramel. The texture is full of thick viscous but mature soft tannins, and the finish is long and lingers well after swallowing the wine. Made with 100% Petite Sirah.

The 2019 Petit Verdot has a deep dark purple/black color with carmine/magenta hues. Pomegranate, cassis, and blackberry along with notes of violets and a sweet floral perfume jump from the glass. Careful management of the barrels used to age this wine has contributed a bouquet that delivers a scent of buttered toast and caramel. On the palate, succulent savory flavors of blackberry, plum and black currant are delivered by a smooth elegant wine with a creamy silky texture. The tannins are mature and well integrated providing viscosity and body without drying astringency. The finish is long and the flavors of toasted oak linger well after the wine is gone.
