Senior Activities

As a celebration for 8th grade students concluding their dedication and hard work at Baruch, we facilitate two very exciting events that are exclusive for our 8th graders in June; the senior trip to Six Flags Great Adventure  and the senior prom. For our trip to Six Flags, transportation will be provided by coach buses and students will get to enjoy a full day at the park with their classmates. Our senior prom is a wonderful event hosted at the school where students can enjoy a night filled with dancing, music and socializing with peers.

Senior trip and senior prom are two of the most fun and exciting events in 8th grade.  However, these two events are privileges that require students to exhibit high levels of responsibility, accountability in order to be able to participate. and an ability to follow rules and directions to ensure everyone has a safe and enjoyable experience.

There are two areas of behavior that students need to have self awareness around. These will be the areas of focus that will determine your child's ability to participate in these special events:

  • Interactions-  Students need to maintain healthy, respectful and safe interactions with peers and adults. When making determinations about student eligibility for senior activities, we will be looking at the history of each student’s interactions and their disciplinary record.
  • Attendance in Class- Students are given a great deal of independence and autonomy in middle school as they navigate their daily schedule and it is their responsibility to arrive to their classes on time. When determining eligibility for senior activities, we will be looking at the history of each student’s follow through with arriving to classes on time.

We will check in with students and communicate with families if a student is in jeopardy of losing these privileges.

Eighth Grade Assistant Principal Anne Traversa and I will be holding assemblies for our eighth grade students to remind them of these expectations as well.

I thank you in advance for reviewing these expectations with your child. Your support and partnership are appreciated, as always.

The options for advertisements are as follows:

  • Quarter-page ads will appear vertically

Yearbook Photo Submissions

Please see the information below regarding the submission of photos to be included in the yearbook.

Baby photos are a fun way to see how you've grown over the years. Please send a baby photo the same way as your Extra Curricular Activities below. We try to keep the photos under the age of 3. If you need help scanning, hard-copy photos can be delivered to room 324 or placed in Mr. Melnick's mailbox in the main office.  Make sure you put the full student name on the back of your photo.

Club and Sports Photos - We are now accepting student photos for the yearbook. We are looking for candids, team pics, or fun group photos.

Students can submit photos online accessing the yearbook website provided here. This is also the website where yearbooks can be purchased. Once you arrive at the website, students must create an account and enter the School Code : 713492 to upload photos to be submitted. Photos should be tagged to the best of your ability so we know who is in the picture and what event, team, or program is being represented.

Questions regarding the yearbook can be emailed to Mr. Melnick at bmelnick@schools.nyc.gov.

Our Annual Fund is our primary source of fundraising. Your support will be more crucial than ever this year as our school faces unprecedented budget cuts and increased student need. Please give what you can.
