Just before Spring Break, we received a surprise in the mail that we thought you'd appreciate learning about. The students and faculty from The Ohio State University's Biological Science Scholars Program sent the Drew Scholars community a letter and signed sympathy cards conveying their sympathy and support. Snapshots of the letter and cards are provided below.

Fall 2023 enrollment by appointment began March 13, check the MSU Student Information System (SIS) to find out your exact enrollment date and time.

Drew Scholarships and Awards

- 3.0 minimum cumulative GPA

Drew students have the opportunity to nominate graduating Drew scholars (themselves or a fellow graduating peer) for one or more of Dr. Charles Drew Outstanding Student Awards. These awards will be presented at the Senior Dinner on April 23, 2023.

This workshop is geared towards undergraduates interested in applying to professional/graduate programs. Students will learn about how the application process is structured, as well as gain tips for figuring out which program is for them.

Dr. Darren Higgins
Seminar in Microbiology and Molecular Genetics
|

This two part seminar will start with a presentation about the adaptation of Listeria monocytogenes, a pathogen present in humans and animals.
In part two, Dr. Higgins will share about his experience being underrepresented within his field and offer advice about living through the uncomfortable.

Dr. Han is looking for students to help develop CRISPR tools in Dropshila and perform research related to dendrite morphogenesis and neurodegeneration.
Preferred qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or other formal training program of four years or equivalent in chemical or biological sciences.
- One or more years of experience performing laboratory procedures such as Drosophila husbandry, animal handling, cell culture, media prep, molecular cloning, protein gel electrophoresis, and genotyping.
- Experience in PC computing platforms and basic programming.

The 10-week ENDURE program allows students to work and perform research in labs studying biomedical and/or behavioral areas.

Peer Assistants (PAs) will work as guides for incoming freshmen during the summer. PAs will be responsible for helping facilitate discussions and activities, as well as being a mentor and role model for incoming MSU students.
Compensation is $1600 for the two week duration.

The College of Social Science is hiring PALs for CJ 110, SOC 100, and many ISS courses for the 2023-2024 academic year. PALs help support student learning by facilitating drop-in tutoring and study sessions for students in their sections.
Students need to have completed the course and passed it with a 3.0 or better. Non-social science students are encouraged to apply.
