Recapping the February 2023 trip to Kenya!

Recapping the February 2023 trip, by Leonard Odeyo

Victory School in Baba Dogo (Nairobi) has increased in students since our last visit! We thank every donor and volunteer who has helped us provide the best we can to make Victory School shine, irrespective of its placement and conditions in a slum.

We were able to take almost 400 individual packets of school supplies ranging from pencils, erasers, notebooks for older kids, and stickers for younger ones. As well as toothbrushes and toothpaste...around 100 pieces. We are extremely grateful to Precious and Cedric Turner; and Alex Stokes who made the donations possible!

We had a 2-day pastoral conference at Higher Vision Christian Fellowship Church in Kitengela, about an hour outside Nairobi. We were very well

received; we had one person receive salvation and several others received healing. Many pastors from Kenya were hungry for more learning and teachings from the conference, with guest speakers Dr. Pastor Steve Cassell and Pastor Craig Harvey from Beloved Church in Lena, Illinois.

We hosted a dinner for 4 high school students who are sponsored by Dorcas Destiny International donors and their parents at the Fenesi Garden Apartments to catch up on how their studies were going and to give them gift bags containing school supplies and some clothing. They also surprised our Founder with several gifts and a song.

In Opoya village, our Sharon Maruti taught some of the older girls how to crochet, which was a big success! The girls will continue to hone their skills and will eventually send their crafts to the USA for purchase and fundraising!

In Awendo Migori county, we had another 2-day conference at Sony Sugar Guest House that was attended by the locals, farmers, and leaders from Nairobi. Later, an assortment of baby items was passed out to the Migori County women’s prison, and time was shared with the men at their prison facility as part of our SOAR (Special Operations and Redemption)

mission. The women received items including baby bottles, infant’s and children’s clothing, reusable diapers, toys, and feminine hygiene supplies.

The Kenya-based Feed My Sheep joined our USA team for the Migori County, Awendo, and Opoya Village/Motivated By Love King’s Academy school programming.

It was such a glorious time! We invite you to sign up for a future trip!
