Meet Randy!Burr Oak State Park has a very important spot in his heart, we knew we had to get his story for the Bobcat Marathon and Half Marathon.
Randy has been a runner since college in the '70’s.
He mostly runs on trails now since they’re softer, more fun, and more inspirational.
He runs primarily in the many Metroparks of the Toledo area!
He has even directed some races!
Randy is running this year’s Bobcat Trail Marathon in memory of his fatherwho passed away on the race date, November 11, in 1984. Also as a kid, his family spent many vacations camping at Burr Oak State Park. So there will be lots of memories for him during the race.
If you see someone in a turtle costume, that's our featured athlete Randy!
We are checking out the Forgotten Trails – should be a good time of the year for them.
You will definitely want a head lamp and a sense of adventure. Make sure you look at the map but I recommend doing the route with someone that knows it well.
Park at Red Lock. If it's full, park down by the railroad tracks in the gravel lot and meet us at Red Lock.
