PA FBLA State Leadership Conference Update
Dear PA FBLA Advisers

A CELEBRATION OF OUR PA FBLA MEMBERS AND PA FBLA CHAPTERS

Each year, Pennsylvania FBLA strives to provide the best quality program and experience for our FBLA members, their advisers, and others who attend and experience a PA FBLA State Leadership Conference.

Pennsylvania FBLA is proud to announce that the Monday, April 17, Opening General Session and the Tuesday, April 18, Awards of Excellence Program will be held at the state of the art “Giant Center” in Hershey!!!!

The Giant Center is known as the home of the PIAA State Championships for various athletic events, most notably basketball and wrestling. Well, the Giant Center and Hershey Lodge will now be known as:

“The Home of the 2022-2023 Pennsylvania FBLA State Championships”

Our move to the Giant Center has given us the opportunity to permit parents/family/guests to purchase low-cost tickets to attend and participate in what are PA FBLA’s two biggest nights of the year: the Opening General Session AND the Awards of Excellence Program! Every year we have been asked if family may attend, and every year we have had to say “no.” NOT THIS YEAR!

The link to the online ticket order form is:

Here's what you need to know:
  • Family members may order the tickets directly from PA FBLA. Advisers do not need to coordinate the ticket purchase (unless you want to).
  • The link to the online ticket order form is: https://pafbla.wufoo.com/forms/p9c985l1uengx4/
  • There will be a special section in the arena reserved for parents/family/guests. They will not be seated with your chapter.

Ticket Purchase Process/Pricing
  • Ticket prices are $5 per person per session: $5 for the Opening General Session and/or $5 for the Awards of Excellence Program.
  • Once an order is received, an invoice from PA FBLA will be emailed to the parent for payment.
  • The invoice will be addressed to the FBLA chapter (don’t panic); the adviser will be copied; but there will be instructions on the invoice regarding who made the order and who is paying the invoice. This is done to keep advisers in the loop about what family members may be attending.
  • Invoices will be generated in 48 hours after receipt of the order form.

Attendance Policies
  • All parents/family/guests will need to be in compliance with the PA FBLA dress code for the evening. Click here for the PA FBLA Dress Code.
  • All parents/family guests will need to wear an official PA FBLA name badge while in attendance at the Awards of Excellence Program. They will be provided at check-in at the Giant Center.
  • The group leader for the parent/family/guests will be able to pick up the packet of materials (name tags, seating section tickets) at the Giant Center prior to the Opening General Session and/or the Awards of Excellence Program (specific instructions will be emailed to each purchaser prior to the SLC)
OR
Advisers may pick them up on behalf of the family at Conference HQ at the Hershey Lodge (Cocoa Terrace Room).

Giant Center Information
  • All Opening General Session and/or SLC Awards of Excellence Program attendees will all enter through the same doors at the Giant Center.
  • All participants, including FBLA members, advisers, parents/family/guests, will experience the same security screening procedures entering the facility as they would if they purchased tickets for any other event at the Giant Center. Be prepared, and stop and think about what you are carrying into the Giant Center that could cause you problems as you go through the security screening process.

Ticket Privileges
  • The purchase of the ticket does not provide entrance to any other PA FBLA event other than the Opening General Session and/or Awards of Excellence Program.
  • FBLA members and advisers/guests/chaperones who have paid the SLC registration fee do not need to order and purchase tickets. Tickets are already allocated to the chapter as part of the registration fee.
  • There will be a special place on the PA FBLA website where parents/family/guests can go as a “one-stop” location about the purchase of tickets. This space will include this same information, links, etc. Look for the graphic that you see at the top of this email.

Here’s the Role Advisers Play
  • Promote this opportunity (and keep promoting) with your FBLA SLC attendees. Remember, advisers do not need to collect orders, money, etc. Everything is done between PA FBLA and the parents/guests.
  • Feel free to forward this email to your chapter members; promote through your chapter’s social media; etc.
  • Please make sure they have all the details.
  • Make sure your student and his/her family knows the following information about your chapter in order to complete the online form:
  • The FBLA adviser’s name
  • The FBLA chapter’s region #
  • Take a look at the form yourself to familiarize yourself with its content.
  • Help your student educate his/her family regarding compliance with the dress code.
