EXCITING THINGS ARE HAPPENING AT NBS!

NBS students are hard at work studying and learning as they prepare for a break in April.

Student learning has taken place in the classroom and outside of the classroom. For example, in the above picture, High School Environmental Science students did a field study onsite at the Mediterranean Sea as they studied the effects of pollution in the sea.

In the photo below, NBS hosted a local Nazareth school as eleventh graders studied negotiation practices and how to apply them in their everyday life. The entire workshop was taught in English.

High School students organized and held a chess tournament. It was a day of play and elimination until the final winner was announced. The young man on the right in the picture below was announced as the NBS Chess Champion. The following photo shows elementary students enjoying their pajama and play day. They, too, played chess and other games. These opportunities provide students with opportunities to learn social interaction. NBS offers a well-rounded education for its students, including: spiritual, academic, and social education.

NBS recently celebrated International Women's Day. In honor of the event, some talented NBS students painted the steps near the school. The painting calls for awareness of the strength of women. NBS has some very gifted students.

We are grieved to announce the passing of Fouad Haddad. Mr. Haddad leaves a remarkable legacy at NBS and in the Nazareth community. He has been a true partner of FON over many years. Mr. Haddad was active in the church community as well as the school community.

He started his work at Nazareth Baptist School in 1953 as a teacher of history and English. Over the years, he has held the roles of teacher, deputy principal, principal, and General Director. He founded the Board of Trustees for NBS and served as chairman. He worked to create the connection between Friends of Nazareth and Nazareth Baptist School.

He leaves behind his lovely wife, Abla, and his three sons, as well as nine grandchildren. He touched the lives of so many in Nazareth and around the world. He will be deeply missed.

Michelle J. Moore works as the Human Resource Manager at Patterson Fan Company, and its affiliates. She is also a homeschool mom, teaching all her children over more than 20 years. Michelle is married to Mark and lives in Ridgeway, SC. They have six children and she is blessed to be Nana to ten precious grandchildren.

Michelle accepted Christ as a child, joining Shandon Baptist (Columbia, SC) with her family, where she has been an active, serving member most of her life. Her heart for missions grew from an early age in GA’s and Acteens, first becoming active in mission trips as a youth. Michelle's heart for teaching children also leads her to serve as a long-time Preschool Sunday School teacher and director.

Michelle has made multiple trips to the Holy Land with FON and VBS teams. 2023 will be her seventh trip and her second as team leader. The people of Nazareth and NBS hold a special place in her heart and Nazareth feels like a second home. She feels serving with FON is a joy and a calling. Michelle has been serving as a FON ambassador and is honored to now join the Board.

On February 22, Friends Of Nazareth President Dr Roger D Mardis, was invited to share our work and ministry to one of the leading businesses in the United States, Ramsey Solutions, home of the Dave Ramsey Show. Each Wednesday the Ramsey Team (1100 strong) gathers for a time of devotion and spiritual development. Mardis used his time to encourage the team members' spiritual growth and development by relating places in the land of Israel.

The Ramsey Team was exceptionally gracious and very excited to hear about FON and NBS. Team members are now discussing ways to connect with FON and visit our campus. Being able to expose our work and school to some of the keenest business minds in America was an amazing opportunity that only God could orchestrate. Thank You, Dave Ramsey and Team, for the invitation.

Please pray for the first teams of 2023 who will be heading to Israel this month! We are so excited for the Ambassador's Spiritual Enrichment Journey and the Mother's Day Team. These teams kick off our 2023 travel season and we are truly grateful for everyone who will joining us this year! We are thankful for all the groups who will complete our VBS and Potter's Wheel teams. The overwhelming response has allowed us to expand our VBS camps and offer more opportunities to engage with and minister to children this summer. There are still a few spots available on the Fall Spiritual Enrichment Journey, which is September 19-30. Contact us today if you'd like to travel with us. We are already planning 2024 trips so be on the lookout for coming updates for next year and don't miss out!
