Alumni leaders share wisdom and wishes

In a heartwarming display of alumni spirit, some members of the Alumni Association Executive Council (AAEC) collaborated on an inspiring video message filled with personal words of wisdom and motivation for fellow alumni in the coming year. Enjoy their uplifting and meaningful messages!

Thanks to our AAEC chair, Jeff Czetweruk (class of 2019), Danny Sabourin (class of 1997 and 1998), Rachel Staron-Curran (class of 2018 and 2019), and Maria Artuso (class of 2001) for sharing their personal best wishes for all alumni.

And a special shout out to Mitch LaChance, who is the Georgian College Student Association (GSCA) representative on the AAEC who shared about his decision to return to Georgian as a mature student to find joy in pursuing a new career pathway. He is currently in the Social Service Work program at the Orillia campus.

Georgian greatly appreciates the hard work of our entire AAEC for their dedicated volunteer work, which continues to benefit our alumni network, providing invaluable support, creating meaningful opportunities, and embodying the true essence of institutional pride and giving back.

Recently approved by the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA), the Georgian Grizzlies will add a women’s varsity rugby sevens team to its roster – complimenting its three-time gold medal-winning men’s varsity rugby team.

“A women’s rugby sevens team is a thrilling addition to Georgian’s stellar lineup of award-winning varsity teams,” said Suzie Addison-Toor, Vice President, Student Success at Georgian. “It also aligns with our commitment to foster diversity, equity and inclusion within our athletic programming, and it’s one example of our continued investment in creating unrivaled student experiences.”
