IEP Essentials: Empowering & Preparing Parents for their child’s IEP

February 29 is... Rare Disease Day
Rare Disease Day is the globally-coordinated movement on rare diseases, working towards equity in social opportunity, healthcare, and access to diagnosis and therapies for people living with a rare disease. A disease is considered rare when it affects fewer than 1 in 12,000 people.
Since its creation in 2008, Rare Disease Day has played a critical part in building an international rare disease community that is multi-disease, global, and diverse– but united in purpose. Learn more Here.

El Día de las Enfermedades Raras es el movimiento coordinado a nivel mundial sobre enfermedades raras, que trabaja por la equidad en las oportunidades sociales, la atención médica y el acceso a diagnósticos y terapias para las personas que viven con una enfermedad rara. Una enfermedad se considera rara cuando afecta a menos de 1 de cada 12.000 personas.

New Year's Kids on the Spectrum Bowling League Party

Saturday, January 4, Family Focus Resource Center and Kids on the Spectrum Bowling League had a very fun and successful event to ring in the new year! It was for ages 3 to 22, and there were 38 kids who bowled! We'd also like to give special thanks to community leader Tim Gaspar for sponsoring pizzas for everyone. We look forward to
next time!

Miller Students FFRC Tour
January 24
Miller CTC students visited our Chatsworth office to learn about FFRC. We explained what we do, our services, shared our resources, and gave them a tour to our library. We provided a bag with our leaflets, QR codes, CNP, driving programs, employment resources, SCDD, DRC, and few goodies to take home. Thank you for the visit!
