Drink Plenty of Water
Don’t Skip Meals: Avoid filling up on holiday treats and overeating at parties.
Portion Control: Enjoy your favorite holiday foods, but take smaller portions.
Get Plenty of Sleep: A well-rested body is better at fighting off illness.
It’s never fun to be sick over the holidays. Take care of yourself.
Feeling Extra?:
Take Sensory Breaks: Find a quiet spot to reset. Have headphones or a comfort item with you.
Use Assistive Tech: If communication gets hard in busy spaces, use your device or
communication tools to let others know you need a break or change of pace.
Plan Your Days: Know your limits and it’s okay to say no.
Stick to Routines: Keep familiar routines when you can. Having consistency can make the holidays feel less intense and more enjoyable.
Shopping:
Budgeting for holiday gifts can make the holidays less stressful.
First, figure out how much money you have or will have to spend on gifts.
Then, make a list of the people you want to buy gifts for.
Next, set a spending limit for each person.
Last, don’t forget to leave some room for other holiday activities.
Get creative, homemade presents or group gifts, can help you stay within your budget. Stick to a plan to avoid spending too much.
