A Daniels Fund Scholar!
Born and raised in Colorado, senior Regis Jesuit High School scholar Jenny has gone to Aurora schools all of her life. In 8th grade she was introduced to Boys Hope Girls Hope Colorado when we visited her middle school. However, it wasn’t until she was a freshman at Regis Jesuit that she took a keen interest in wanting to be a part of the academy there. Last week, Jenny was announced as a recipient of the Daniel’s Fund Scholarship
One of the many benefits of being a BHGHCO scholar are the practice interviews! Whether it is preparing for a job, internship, or scholarship interview, scholars are provided the opportunity to do practice run-throughs with staff, Board members and volunteers.
Jenny’s dream school is University of San Francisco because she is excited about their direct admission nursing program. It was not a given that she would go there, due to the financial criteria per year. She was hopeful, but anxiously awaiting to hear about the Daniel’s Fund. Last week, her dream came true! She is officially headed to San Francisco in the fall and grateful for the opportunity.
“Thanks to this scholarship, I am relieved that I no longer have to consider other schools that may not have been my first choice.”
When asked what her favorite part of BHGHCO has been so far she said it is the preparation - especially College Bootcamp. Even though it was a week of her summer spent in the classroom, she came out realizing how much it benefited her. The effort she put in during that time produced a great college essay that was ready to go, as well as wonderful direction on the application process and more! It certainly worked -- and we could not be more excited for Jenny and her future! Congratulations!
