MISSION & MINISTRY

Focus: HOPE Food Drive

Mercy values in action! As we enter into this season of thanks, one of the ways that Mercy High School expresses gratitude is by giving back to the community. For decades we have been an important partner to the Focus:HOPE Food for Seniors Program. Focus: HOPE provides assistance to over 40,000 low income seniors every year through monthly food assistance, health screenings and so much more.

All students and staff are asked to bring in select food items to donate along with a small monetary contribution toward perishable items. Food donations will be collected in Adviser Group until Friday, November 15 along with Monday for produce brought in by 8:00am. Mercy is proud to be one of Focus: HOPE's largest donors. THANK YOU for helping us make this a successful food drive!

Sweater Weather Drive

Have any cold-weather clothes that you are looking to part with? Catherine’s Closet will be collecting items such as jackets, jeans, sweaters and more from November 18 - 22. Donation bins can be found at the Reception Area and Lobby. Clothing will be resold on December 5th and 6th! All proceeds will be donated to various service organizations.

Foundation Day Mass & Youth Mercy Association Induction

You're invited to Mercy High School for our Foundation Day Mass Thursday, December 12 at 10:15am in the Auditorium. Worship with us as we celebrate the Sisters of Mercy Foundation Day and induct our new Youth Mercy Associates.

The Sisters of Mercy around the world celebrate December 12th as Foundation Day of the Mercy Community. On that day in 1831, Catherine McAuley, Mary Ann Doyle, and Elizabeth Harley professed vows as the first Sisters of Mercy in Dublin, Ireland. From their commitment to serve the poor, sick and uneducated, the Sisters of Mercy grew into thousands across the globe, reaching the United States in 1843 in Pittsburgh and establishing foundations throughout the U.S. The Youth Mercy Associate Chapters provide a link between young people and the Mercy Congregation, and the Sisters of Mercy. They serve to uphold Catherine McAuley’s vision of faith, joy and mercy.

Yearbooks are available for purchase online here with code 13826.

Place a Yearbook Ad

The Lore Yearbook staff is very excited to capture memories of the year for our students, especially this year’s Senior Class.

Within Lore every year, the families of the graduating class have the opportunity to purchase ads to celebrate their students with a personalized message and photo. This opportunity is available again this year. Ads must be purchased by December 8, 2024 to appear in the yearbook, so don't delay!

There are various sizes and price options for these ads, ranging from a full-page ad ($325) to a sixteenth-page color ($25). To design and purchase an ad for your graduating senior, please visit the order website (job number: 13826) and follow these instructions:

  1. Choose the size ad you would like to create.
  2. Select student when prompted for whom to buy the ad.
  3. Enter your student’s name. Please use her full name as it appears on PowerSchool, not a nickname.
  4. Choose whether you would like to create the ad online or send the message and photos to the Lore staff to make the ad.
  5. Follow all of the prompts and instructions to complete the ad.

Please feel free to contact the Lore Yearbook staff with any questions at mercylore@mhsmi.org.
