Jesus Christ Superstar
at The Maryland Theatre
| |
Jesus Christ Superstar
Saturday, April 1, 2023 at 7:00 PM
Sunday, April 2, 2023 at 3:00 PM
The first musical by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice to be produced for the professional stage, Jesus Christ Superstar has wowed audiences for over 40 years. A timeless work, the rock opera is set against the backdrop of an extraordinary and universally known series of events but seen, unusually, through the eyes of Judas Iscariot. Loosely based on the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, Superstar follows the last week of Jesus Christs life. The story, told entirely through song, explores the personal relationships and struggles between Jesus, Judas, Mary Magdalene, his disciples, his followers and the Roman Empire. The iconic 1970s rock score contains such well known numbers as Superstar, I Don’t Know How to Love Him and Gethsemane. Do not miss this incredible story!

Noteworthy Sundays at the
Fletcher Branch of the
Washington County Free Library
| |
Join WCFA on Sunday, April 2nd at 3pm for great music provided by local Virginia based musician, Caitlin Schneiderman!
Born and raised in the small town of Clifton, Virginia, Caitlin has been writing and recording original music since she was fourteen. Her sweet voice and rustic guitar meld into one instrument when she performs, known to quiet even the rowdiest of bars - when Caitlin plays, people listen.
Together, she and her six-string have serenaded New York City’s streets, captivated California’s cliff sides and charmed the Great Smoky Mountains. Music has forever been an essential part of Caitlin’s life. Listen and you will hear the detail and devotion in each of her chords, each word, and each note. You will hear music that honors tradition but defies predictability.
Noteworthy Concerts are sponsored by the Washington County Arts Council, the City of Hagerstown, and Western Maryland Regional Library.
Registration is not required but is appreciated.
