For generations, Nazarenes have supported the World Evangelism Fund. Working together, we accomplish so much as the Body of Christ. Become a part of missions work and partner with the Church of the Nazarene to make Christlike disciples in the nations. In the Funding the Mission plan, the World Evangelism Fund is the vehicle through which we deliver the message of hope - and your church drives that mission.

TEEN CAMP - canceled
It is with great sadness that I inform you that we have had to cancel teen camp. Eagle Crest informed us that they are closing their campground as of June 1, 2023, so they are unable to host us. We have been in conversation with many other campgrounds but they are already booked for this summer. We also looked into combining with some other District camps, but dates and prices were not feasible for us at this late notice.
That being said, we are actively looking for a solution for next year's teen camp but mark your calendars for November 17-19, 2023 as we will be hosting a Fall Retreat at Menno Haven Camp & Retreat Center in Tiskilwa, Illinois. We will also move some of the Zone Gatherings from the fall to the summer in order to give us time to fellowship with each other over the summer.
Although this was not our plan, serving our teens is our greatest desire so please be in prayer with me, for them through all the opportunities we are working on for them to gather together as one body, united in Christ.

Bible quizzing is about "guiding our youth into the Word and the Word into their lives."
| |
About Youth Quizzing
The Bible quizzing program launched as a ministry of the Church of the Nazarene during the 1964 General Nazarene Young People’s Convention and was immediately well-received. Quizzing is a unique and exciting ministry for youth that combines Bible study, mentoring, competition, fellowship, discipleship, and mission. In addition to developing a devotion to God’s Word and lifelong habits of Bible study in youth, quizzing creates and builds up a community of young disciples and servants, steadily adding to a vast pool of leadership and continually strengthening the church and its ministries. More and more teenagers and youth leaders are realizing just what an impact quizzing can have in their lives and in the lives of people around the world!
Youth Quizzing Values
As a ministry of Nazarene Youth International (NYI), Nazarene Youth Bible Quizzing shares the values that NYI recognizes as important dimensions of the holy life. We seek to reflect these values in all we do.
-
We value the Bible… God’s unchanging truth for our lives.
-
We value Prayer… vital interactive communication with our heavenly father.
-
We value the Church… a global holiness community of faith, diverse in culture but one in Christ.
-
We value Worship… life-changing encounters with an intimate God.
-
We value Discipleship… a lifestyle of becoming like Christ.
-
We value Community… building relationships that help bind us together and to God.
-
We value Witness… sharing God’s love in word and deed.
-
We value Holiness… a work of grace whereby God, through the working of His Holy Spirit, enables us to live a life representing Christ in who we are and in everything we do.

What is Children's Bible Quizzing?
Children's Bible Quizzing is a Bible study for children ages 6 through 12 (USA grades 1-6). It is important to help children know what the Bible says so they can demonstrate biblical teachings in real-life situations. Quizzing also teaches children about God.
There are six books in the Children’s Bible Quizzing study series that have been specifically chosen for children to gain an overarching understanding of the chronology and meaning of the Bible.
(Acts, Genesis, Exodus, Joshua/Judges/Ruth, 1 & 2 Samuel, Matthew)
Each Bible study not only helps children understand this chronology, but the people in each lesson come to life as children learn about their humanity and God’s plan to make all things new. While God sometimes uses miracles to achieve His purposes, He often works in relationship with His beloved creation: people.
The Philosophy and Purpose of Quizzing
The philosophy of Children’s Quizzing is Bible study. It is important to help children know what the Bible says and help them demonstrate biblical teachings in actual life situations. The goal of Children’s Quizzing is for children to know the God of the Bible.
The purpose of Children’s Quizzing Bible study and competition is to help children:
- Desire to study the Bible.
- Get acquainted with basic Bible study.
- Grow in understanding of the overall chronology of the Bible.
- Learn that God is the central character and Hero of the Bible.
- Gain increased understanding of God as He is revealed in each study.
- Understand how people in the Bible interacted with God, and know how people today may do so also.
- Enjoy quizzing competition.
- Grow in the ability to reflect Christian attitudes and behaviors during competition.
In Children's Bible Quizzing, each child challenges himself or herself to reach award levels. In this approach, children quiz against a base of knowledge, not each other. The multiple-choice method of competition allows every child to answer every question. This approach makes it possible for every child to score a perfect score.

Church Multiplication Endowment Fund | |
Give a GIFT that doesn't stop Giving!
Would you give $1.00 a month if it never stopped giving, never wore out, never changed its usefulness or purpose and transformed lives?
The Church Multiplication Endowment Fund is designed to reach unreached people living on the NWIL District for Christ. Every dollar given will continue to give in perpetuity. An endowment fund uses the interest from the principle to do kingdom work. Will you help fund this goal?
Currently, our district property funds have been invested in planting 22 new churches these past three years and the district is in need of capital to continue to plant more! We need your help. Presently, there are 36 more potential church plants in various stages of planning which will require additional funding support.
Would you consider a GIFT of $1.00 a month? We are not trying to take money from your local ministry where you give your tithes and offerings. We are asking for many to give a little. Our initial goal is 5,000 giving at least $1.00 a month. Would you be one of those 5,000 making a commitment to create a movement to plant churches that change lives? Here are ways to give:
- You can give to your local church by marking your check or cash gift "NWIL CM Endowment" and your church treasurer will take it from there.
-
You can also choose to give online if you want to set up one time or reoccurring payments using debit/credit/Electronic Check on the district website at nwilnaz.org/GIVE/ On District Church Planting or direct CM Endowment Giving LINK. Or scan this QR code at the bottom of this article.
- You can send a check or cash to NWIL District, 4224 N. Brandywine Dr., Suite 300 Peoria, IL 61614 (please indicate CM Endowment on check memo)
We are also looking for those who might like to make greater kingdom investments!
You can give cash, stocks, bonds, real estate, livestock, grain, or other personal property. Basically, any asset of marketable value can be used to help fund this endowment. There are also charitable gift annuity options that allow you to specify the endowment fund or another ministry of your choice while allowing you to receive income for your lifetime and when you pass, your gift goes to the endowment fund or specified ministry. CLICK HERE to see other ways to model generosity. Gifts can be given in memory or in honor of someone.
Large or small: Why not leave a lasting legacy that lasts more than your lifetime.
For more information or confidential consultation please contact NWIL District Administrator, Jim Book 309-678-2357; NWIL District Treasurer, Ray Barker 309-645-7716; or the Nazarene Foundation directly at 913-577-2983.
