As the year winds down, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on the incredible journey we've been on together in 2023. Your dedication to the growth and prosperity of Memphis & Shelby County has been nothing short of inspiring, and I'm excited to share a glimpse of our progress and the exciting road ahead.


Over the past months, we've witnessed remarkable strides in economic development, community engagement, and project implementation. From groundbreaking initiatives to collaborative efforts that define the spirit of our community, our incredible partners have been the driving force behind our collective successes.


As we press on, envision with me a Memphis and Shelby County that continues to evolve and thrive. The momentum we've built together is the catalyst for the transformative projects yet to be unveiled. We are actively working to create an environment that fosters innovation, inclusivity, and sustainable growth. Let's finish this year strong and set the tone for an even more promising 2024.

November Board Meeting Recap: Fast Track PILOT, Two ICED Loans


The EDGE Board met and approved two Inner City Economic Development (ICED) Loans for Upscale Kutz, LLC and Groovy Gratitude, LLC. A 10-year Fast Track PILOT was also approved for Fresh Start Facility Services, Inc., a leading provider of commercial janitorial services and one of two black-owned businesses EDGE has ever given a PILOT to.

After nearly two years of negotiations, work is set to finally begin on the tallest tower in Memphis – 100 N. Main – on November 30. EDGE approved a $5 million loan to help fund the pre-development demolition work in August.
