About Adrift Dinosaur:
We are foremost river women and river men. We are an open-hearted tribe of adventurers, seekers, pilgrims, travelers, musicians, and stewards. We draw inspiration from the explorers, pioneers, and protectors of the rivers and canyons that came before us. We believe that right now we are in a position to exact positive influence and help inspire a new generation of stewards, extreme athletes, and adventurers that will continue a legacy of environmental activism and stewardship.
Javier Placer and Scotty Stoughton founded Stand Up Paddle Colorado in 2010 to share their love of the sport with those seeking adventure. Fellow water enthusiast, Craig Yarde, joined in this business venture as a partner in 2015. In 2016, Javier and Scotty were among the first to paddle the entire Grand Canyon on the majestic Colorado River and knew they had to find a way to share the magic of an unplugged multi-day river expedition with the world. When the opportunity came up to acquire a permit for Dinosaur National Monument on the Green River and the Yampa River – Javier, Scotty and Craig put together a deal, and the rest is history.
Adrift Dinosaur (formerly Adrift Adventures) is the premier Utah Rafting outfitter in Dinosaur National Monument. Adrift offers a daily nine-mile Green River whitewater rafting trip through Split Mountain Gorge, as well as multi-day whitewater rafting trips on the Green and Yampa rivers. Embark on our 5-day Yampa River rafting adventure that covers 72 miles through Class III-IV rapids. Another option is our 4-day Green River raft trip that covers 44 miles of Class III-IV rapids through the legendary Gates of Lodore. Both trips begin in Colorado and end in Utah through Split Mountain Canyon. We have also cultivated some amazing relationships with musicians, athletes, influencers and chefs that take rafting and recreation to the next level on multi-day trips. We also offer specialty multi-day Stand Up Paddle Board trips, which are quickly becoming Utah’s best SUP tours.
Dinosaur National Monument is a spectacular park without the crowds. The rivers all carry a wilderness designation, which means space is limited. The controlled numbers not only help protect the resource and river corridor but also allow you to really feel like you have escaped. With Fremont, Ute and other native peoples rock art, caves where outlaws like Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid hid from the authorities, dinosaur bones in situ at the quarry, a geological tapestry that rivals the Grand Canyon and world class white water on two of the largest tributaries of the Colorado River…this may be one of the raddest places in the continental USA. Join us for an intimate whitewater adventure of a lifetime, that is suitable for beginner and intermediate river enthusiasts alike.
