2025 Summer Camps Guide


Color the world of your kiddo with one of our exciting summer camps! Let them embrace the outdoors with nature camps at Star K Ranch or the Aurora Reservoir. Luckily our preschoolers never have to choose!


Now is the time to start registering for fall 2025 preschool! The city of Aurora Preschool Program offers a variety of part-time, tuition-based classes for three and four-year-olds. Registration for new families began yesterday, Jan. 21.


Classes begin Aug. 11 and are available for children ages three and four (as of Oct. 1).


At the city of Aurora, our Colorado Shines-rated preschool programs are designed to prepare your child for school success while fostering social-emotional development, self-help skills and fine/gross motor skills.


Plus, all Colorado 4-year-olds are eligible for 10–15 hours of free preschool tuition each week! Select students may qualify for 30 hours per week based on state funding and eligibility.

Celebration recap from ACAA 45th anniversary

Last week, the Aurora Center for Active Adults (ACAA) celebrated 45 incredible years of serving the older adult community! The ACAA hosted a special Open House from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 10 at 30 Del Mar Circle. Our guests enjoyed free entry all day, a beautiful and delicious cake, lessons with our resident expert quilters, workout classes and a walk down memory lane with ACAA memorabilia. We loved celebrating 45 years of community with you!

Try out Flag Football

Girls-Only Football is coming to Southeast Recreation Center and Fieldhouse. Our programs are not just about scoring touchdowns but also building bonds that last a lifetime. Through fun-filled practices followed by exhilarating games, players learn the importance of teamwork, communication and trust on and off the field. This is a contactless sport, and safety comes first for all our players.

SCFD free days at PCC

Interested in exploring Aurora’s shortgrass prairie? Looking for a free family friendly outing? Aurora Parks Recreation and Open Space and Denver Botanic Gardens are hosting monthly FREE DAYS at the Plains Conservation Center. With wagon rides, historical homestead replicas to explore, a presentation from HawkQuest featuring live raptors, and many more fun things to see and do. It’s a free day of activities you won’t want to miss!

Train your best friend: Dog training classes available

WOOF! 🐶 Did a new furry friend enter your life or are you looking to better communicate with your dog? We’ve got good news for you. We offer puppy training and traditional dog training. This spring, dog training will be available at the majority of the centers for the first time ever!

Community Corner: Strengthen your mind and body

Looking to improve your core strength in 2025? Look no further than our Pilates classes. Our expert instructors will take you through various total body conditioning exercises that combine flexibility and strength to improve posture, develop mind/body uniformity and provide balance.

What You’ll Do:

  • Welcome guests and assist with registrations, memberships and reservations
  • Provide exceptional customer service in person, over the phone and electronically
  • Handle cash transactions and operate registration software
  • Support events and programs with setup, cleanup and administrative tasks

ARPA Initiative: Improvement on park features, accessibility and more

As part of the Reviving Parks, Renewing Communities: American Rescue Plan at Work (ARPA) initiative, we're kicking off construction at 12 park sites throughout the city! These renovations will bring inclusive, accessible and state-of-the-art amenities to our community, ensuring that parks serve residents of all ages and abilities. What to expect:


  • Improved park features
  • Enhanced accessibility for everyone
  • New spaces for play, fitness and community gatherings
