Room blocks for the 2025 UBCM Convention in Victoria, BC will open on Wednesday, November 6, 9am. Please note, the hotels will not accept reservations before this date at the UBCM rate, and will not create waitlists. Reservations made before the block opening date through a third-party or at a different rate, cannot be changed to the UBCM room blocks.

Opportunities for input

Feedback sought on potential changes to responsible conduct framework


Local elected officials and CAOs are invited to provide comment on the potential for change to the framework that supports responsible conduct in BC. The invitation follows on a discussion paper from UBCM and the Local Government Management Association that explores the potential of mandatory codes of conduct and models for their administration and enforcement. The deadline for feedback has been extended to December 1, 2024.

Province calls for detailed internet coverage information


Local and Indigenous governments, particularly those in rural and remote areas, are invited to submit comments to the Canadian Radio-Television and Telecommunications Commission in support of a Part 1 application from the BC Ministry of Citizens’ Services. The deadline for comments is Friday, November 29, 2024, 5 pm PST.
